"Sam and staff very helpful to start process, installers were very punctual & skilled. 3 different crews (because of differing products/projects needed), all were professional and exhibited 'quick work, high quality'. 1st experience with Best Carpet; will not be the last. Very good experience from start to finish"

"Lance is wonderful. He reached out right away after I submitted my project on Angie’s List. We set up a good time for him to inspect the job. Lance stretched 7 Year old carpet so it looks new again! The installer we used before said nothing could be done and walked away. Thanks again Lance!"

"Quality carpet and installation! John and Mark just finished installing 1908 sq. ft. of carpet, including stairs. Their work is meticulous and they are very professional, punctual, and polite. I highly recommend Carpet Factory Outlet. The entire process - shopping, communication, installation - went so well. Thank you to Dave H. also for organizing the project. Well done!"

"Selection was excellent and prices were fair. Installation did not go well, and as a result, carpeting had to be replaced. The owner went unbelievably out of his way to make sure the fix was appropriate, including personally supervising the replacement. He felt worse about the problem than we did! Weeks later, he's still apologizing....I no longer answer the phone! To us, the true measure of a quality operation is how problems are solved, and this company is the best. Will definitely use again, and recommend to others."

"Matt immediately called me upon receiving my request through Angie's list and talked with me about my project. I felt comfortable with him on the phone and set up an in-home appointment. Robert came out and was very patient and helpful as I wasn't sure if I wanted light or dark wood, engineered or solid wood. He left samples with me and brought additional samples several more times until I landed on the one I wanted (solid hand-scraped maple alternating 3" & 5" boards). He then made suggestions and helped me choose carpeting for the two bedrooms and stairwell. Then, Michelle, the project manager, called me and we set up the installation dates. She, too, was very accommodating and set appropriate expectations about the project. And she was very responsive to my frequent calls. I needed to have carpeting, vinyl and hardwood removed from my rooms first so there was a lot of demolition. Kevin and Charlie were the demolition and installation pros for the hardwood. They were very friendly, accommodating and professional (as was the entire team). They also moved my furniture which many flooring companies will not do. The hardwood took 6 days. They even came in on Saturday to complete the install. Robert and Michelle also came in and cleaned the floors and the furniture and put it back where it belonged (amazing). On Monday the carpet team came in and took care of the two bedrooms (also did a great job). Later on Monday, Michelle came back to check everything and did more touch-up cleaning. It was a big project and the house was a construction site for a while, but this team was unbelievable in a very good way. Kevin and Charlie did an amazing job. The floors look terrific as does the bedroom carpeting. I can't say enough about Michelle and Robert either. They were incredibly considerate and attentive. I love my wood floors and new carpeting!!"

"Floor Coverings International (FCI) was an excellent company to work with. I needed someone who could remove ceramic tiles and carpeting, measure, and install a specific product I was only able to find online. Local companies only provided these services if I bought their flooring. I found FCI via Thumbtack. They responded immediately to my inquiry. Ally, the design coordinator, came to my house and was a pleasure to work with - knowledgable, professional and very helpful in assisting me with my project. As the job proceeded I found the whole team to be comprised of quality people. Jason, the flooring installer is a craftsman. His workmanship provided beautiful results. From my experience I can say they stand behind their promise to make the customer happy. You can trust them to do you right."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in New Berlin, WI

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
