"Royal Roofing did a great job replacing our roof and gutters. When it came to the roof, they arrived at 7:30am and were done by 3pm. Before they began working everything was carefully tarped and protected – including the neighbor’s house. Throughout the project, Mike, the project manager, kept us up-to-date about the progress with pictures taken from a drone. The drone pictures were also given to us for our records. We had the gutters done on another day, and once again, the job was done right. There was attention to detail from start to finish. Both Mike, and Jamie who worked on the gutters, took pride in their work. The roof, gutters and soffits look great. The old roofing and gutters and the mess that goes with the jobs was removed and everything was cleaned up before they left. Mike, the project manager, was great. He came to our house with a drone for the estimate and familiarized us with the work that they do and the warranties that come with the job. All of our questions were answered and written estimates provided. While the roof was being worked on Mike was onsite making sure that everything ran smoothly. He interacted well with the neighbors and put everyone at ease. When the gutters were done, he kept in touch and once again, everything went well. I definitely recommend them and would hire them again."

"ANB Construction is by far one of the absolute best contractors I have ever worked with. I am a contractor myself so I know what makes for a true professional and knowledgeable company. The entire ANB team responded immediately, showed up on time and on schedule, keep me informed, and really knew roofing. The price service is unmatched and address every aspect of our job. Gustavo and the ANB team are top notch A++++ in my book and would hire them again without a doubt. No better roofing company and I know plenty being in the trades myself for over 30 years."

"It didn't go very well. The gentleman came and looked at the roof. He said that he would send us a summary of what he found but we never received it. He just looked at the roof, he never did any work. He was on time. I am less likely to use them again. He didn't really do any work, he just looked at the roof for 10/15 minutes."

"Having used Roofmaster before, I knew I could count on Mike to get the job done. A handyman and another roofer had failed to stop a leak that was damaging the ceiling below. Granted it was not readily apparent where the leak was coming from. Mike assessed that it was most likely from the hatch or the skylight which were next to each other. The first action was to replace the hatch, which was not very functional and needed replacing. Unfortunately, this did not stop the leak. Mike then spent hours on the roof with a hose testing for the leak, finally determining that it was coming from the old skylight. He and his men then installed a new skylight, and the roof has not leaked since.
I also had noticed that the drainpipe was clogged. Mike and his guys replaced the old pipe, finding a beer can and brown glass bottle inside the pipe!
Throughout, Mike and his men were prompt, neat, courteous and efficient.

"I'm not sure. We didn't have enough snowfall this season...BUT I have a sense that it was another provider (handyman who works for the BUILDER) who found the leak. Sadly, the roof leak only occurs when it snows a lot and then melts...and it didn't do that so far this season."

"The Parsons crew came and replaced the roof on our house and detached garage as specified. The sales process seemed straightforward.
Couple of details worth mentioning:
As the work was performed, Kenny, the foreman asked us about doing some specialized work near the chimney--it was going to be an extra $500 or so. We weren't thrilled about this, but in retrospect it was money well spent. We had always had some trouble with water coming in through the chimney, but whatever they did in that area was the solution we needed.
There must be some kind of material or substance used in the roofing process that kills vegetation. The Parsons guys need to be a little more careful, because a couple big patches on my lawn turned yellow.
But the most troubling aspect of the experience was this: The east-facing side of my garage roof--which is tough to see, unless you're on my neighbor's property--was left unfinished. There was about a 5'X'5 space that had paper down but no shingles. I noticed this about 3 days after the job was done. When I called about it, the person at Parson's made it seem like they knew about it, that they ran out of supplies the day of the job and were going to come back and finish. Do I believe this? Mmmm, not so sure. But they did come back and finish it up right away.
Overall, I'm happy with the way the roof looks, and that they fixed the chimney. But I hesitate to recommend them.

"With John Parker, it always goes well. He is a complete professional. He is pleasant to work with, dependable, punctual, neat -- after his men finish a job, the work sites have always been clean as a whistle. He checks up on how the work is going and, at the end of the day, comes by again to make sure all was done as planned. The price below is the average cost of jobs he has done for me."

"Two guys showed up on time and got to work immediately inspecting and vacuuming and snaking the fireplace and chimney flue. They operated form the roof and inspected the entire chimney from top to bottom. Both men answered my lay questions kindly and with plenty of detail about minor and major issues they found and the forecasted schedule of when I should address them. They did NOT do the classic inspect-and-force-you-into-buying-a-new-liner routine and that was much appreciated.  They took their time and did not rush the service or question/answers. They earned credibility and next year or so when I replace the liner, I will call upon them for sure. I recommend this company.

FAQs for heating cable for roof installation projects in New-York, NY

A typical heat cable uses 5 watts per foot, regardless of the outside temperature. So, if your cable is 100 feet long, it uses 500 watts per hour. Expect to pay an additional $40 to $200 or more per month on your electricity bill. Be sure to turn manual cables off in the summer when you don't need them.

To install heat tape on your roof, place it along the lower edge in a precise zig-zag pattern to maximize coverage and heat distribution. Professional installers secure the tape with specialized clips that attach firmly to your shingles. This method ensures even heat distribution to effectively melt ice and snow while maintaining your roof's integrity during severe winter conditions.

Choosing between heated gutters and roof heating cables usually comes down to budget, appearance, and performance. Heated gutters cost less to install and blend seamlessly with your home’s exterior, making them a discreet, lower-cost option for preventing ice dams. Roof heating cables deliver more customizable and powerful heat along roof edges to handle heavy snow and ice, but they require more material and labor, increasing your upfront investment. Evaluate your roof design, winter weather demands, and energy budget to select the system that works best for your property.

Roof heating cables prevent ice dams by melting snow and stopping ice buildup at the roof edge. Ice damming occurs when melting snow refreezes on a cold roof—often right above the gutter line—and blocks water from draining, which can force moisture under shingles into your home. Heating cables maintain a warm channel that clears ice dams as soon as they form and protects your roof from water damage and structural issues.

Roof heating cables last between two and ten years before replacement is needed, wearing out faster than your roof itself. Their lifespan depends on climate severity, cable type, and exposure to physical damage. Consistent inspections and preventative maintenance—such as clearing debris, tightening clips, and checking electrical connections—can extend their service life and ensure reliable snow and ice protection each winter.

To safely remove snow from your roof, start with a specially designed roof rake, standing firmly on the ground and pulling snow downhill rather than climbing onto the roof. You can also apply calcium chloride ice melt to break up stubborn ice or gently use a secured rope from a safe vantage point.

Keep in mind that large snow slabs can weigh hundreds of pounds and pose a serious fall risk. If conditions are hazardous or you lack the right equipment, hire a professional to protect your safety and your roof’s integrity.
