"We contacted Richard regarding the job, and had a quote back within the week - good quote.  He quickly responded to any questions  we had, and scheduled the work.  They completed the demo in one day, a few days before the cabinets showed up - if I had to do this again, I would hold off on the demolition until the cabinets were in, as it is difficult to live without a kitchen, especially with children.  It took approximately two weeks for the kitchen to be completed, with slight delays due to a damaged cabinet, time for the new countertops to set, appliance delivery, etc.  One hitch developed when the dishwasher was hooked up incorrectly, and water ran into my basement - I called Richard, and once I got through the answering service, he contacted the plumber, and we resolved the problem immediately over the phone, and the plumber was at my house at 8 the next morning ( a Saturday of a holiday weekend) to permanently fix the problem.  At the end of the two weeks, we had a great new kitchen, well installed, and we were thrilled!"

"Installed at a seasonal camp with no roof ridge vents. Upstairs is used occasionally for sleeping and is unfinished, being there is no attic. During the day temperatures easily soar well above 100 degrees, making it impossible to cool with a window unit. Greg suggested putting in an exhaust vent fan on a thermostat to blow the heat outside and create ventilation upstairs. The wiring was quick and the installation smooth. And what a difference! The fan works great and you can feel the cool air flow coming up the stairs if the upstairs windows are closed. This was one of those things we should have done years ago. "This was an experiment for me in use of an interior designer online.  THe consultant was helpful in directing me to useful websites to review products and encouraged me to look widely and that was useful. Otherwise I found it difficult to use her services. The online aspect is one reason - looking at colors, e.g. wall colors and considering them for a particular space is difficult to do given than monitors and lighting change the look of things. Also, one cannot get the sense of e dimensional space from 2 dimensional tools
 In addition,  she was only allowed to advise me on one room and I have an open space that includes living, dining and kitchen areas, all of which had to be considered together. It was frustrating that she was not allowed to think about the other spaces when I had to think about all of them together.
The designer pushed me to choose a rug before choosing living room furniture but I preferred to choose the furniture first as it is more difficult to replace.  She was not able to be flexible on this account. Also, when I did not seem interested in buying through their service she seemed to loose interest.
It often took several days for the consultant to get back to me. That is the area where I most fault the individual as opposed to the set up of online consulting. 
In the end, I made my own choices and am happy with them. The experience gave me more confidence in my own instincts.
