He installed a frieze board and fixed some rotten siding on a dormer along with other various siding and window trims work The quality of work was excellent and very professional Good quality craftmanship and high work ethics coupled with good communication and very friendly. He provides good advise on what to do and always putting the customer first. He is one of the best carpentry contractor and I definitely recommend him and will call him again for all my future carpentry siding work."

"The first thing George did when he assessed my needs was to explain how I could save significant money. Whereas I thought I needed both a new main door and a new storm door, he explained how I could repair my main door cost-effectively. That tip saved me at least $500 - $750. I purchased the storm door on my own, and he then installed it. The door is in an awkward location on my house, which made for a very difficult removal of the old door and frame and equally challenging installation of the new door. He had to build out the frame a bit, and he also primed and painted the brick mold to account for the difference in the way the new door frame fit.
During the installation process, George discovered that the doorbell would no longer fit in its original location. It was very old, rusted, and cracked. It therefore didn't survive being removed. He went out and purchased a new one and installed it in a new location. It looks great.
When all was said and done, the new door looked as if it had always been there. There were no gaps, marks, or signs of a previous door. Also, George cleaned everything up and took away the old door and all of the packaging for the new one.

"In the Spring of 2018 we hired Matt Willett to rebuild sections of our home due to mass devastation due to a Tornado that touch down in the Bethany Ct. The project which consist of rebuilding a very large deck, rebuild the master bedroom and rebuild the roof line on each end of the house where two large trees fell upon. "I cannot speak highly enough of Tom and Brad Green of Colonial Restorations. We have lived in our antique house for 16 years now, and like most old homes, some of its previous repairs were good, some not so good. Tom Green worked on this house for its previous owners, and his work was, by far, the best in the house. So, we continued to use Colonial - Tom, then Tom and Brad - as we learned the ropes about caring for an old house - our first house, old or new. Over the years, they have replaced sills and posts and beams, and rebuilt parts of our loose stone foundation. Most recently, they replaced the last original posts in our basement, (one of which was a tree trunk still with bark on it), including pouring new custom footings, in advance of our finally cementing the dirt floor. The work here is never easy - nothing is level, nothing is square - but the Greens' end result has always been beautiful - strong and made to last. Their prices are fair and without hidden costs....maybe not the lowest bid you might get, but you know it's a real bid that they will stand behind. They triage projects for us, giving us an idea of what other items will likely need attention in the next few years. We're not done with this house yet....we've never won the lottery, and there's always another repair..... and plan to use them again soon. I feel confident knowing that the next owners of this house, whoever they might be, will see the quality of the work and know that we cared enough to have the right people help us with the ongoing repair and maintenance of a 275+ year old house.
