"Steve at Serenity and his team were very professional and did a great job. We love our new bathroom and it was priced well compared to alternatives we shopped in town. Kristian is the one who did most of the on-site work and he was excellent. Johnny with The One Guy was our tiler. We chose to paint walls and existing cabinet's ourselves as you'll see in the photos."

"Colvin agreed to install the new vanity, sink, medicine cabinet and sink faucet and cut the legs off the over-the-toilet cabinet and mount it on the wall in addition to installing the new shower and the exhaust fan which we purchased from Colving. The electrician Colvin had install the exhaust fan not only installed the fan, but vented it out through the roof which was a major plus. The over-the-toilet cabinet accidentally fell over during the project and the glass doors broke. Colvin replaced the cabinet with a better grade wall cabinet at no extra cost to us. Brad, the installer, started the project on a Thursday and had it completed by the following Wednesday. Brad was always punctual, conscientious and hardworking. I’m short and the shower head was just a little too high. When Guy Colvin came out for the final inspection, he lowered the shower head so I could easily reach it and said there was a bracket available that could be installed for use when I didn’t want to get my hair wet. We liked that idea. Guy said he would send Andy, another installer (who lives in Leo), out to install the bracket and put knobs on the wall cabinet for us. On the scheduled day, Andy arrived a few minutes before the time agreed on and had the shower bracket installed and the knobs put on the wall cabinet in short order. It may sound silly, but the shower bracket and cabinet knobs really made my day! Our entire experience with Colvin Kitchen & Bath was a very pleasant one, beginning with Josh Walters, the Sales Representative, right through Julie in the office to Randy Colvin, Brad, Guy Colvin and Andy. We highly recommend Colvin Kitchen & Bath to anyone who wants a bathroom remodeled."

"LG Manufacturing went above and beyond my expectations with their cabinetry. The quality of their cabinets is high end and their finish work is exceptionally beautiful. The attention to detail during installation resulted in such a flawless overall job. I am grateful for Kevin and his genuine personality. He made the cabinet process very easy from the design phase through completion. I would highly recommend him for your custom cabinets!"

"He used the best hardware in the cabinet that could be obtained which is what I wanted. His carpentry work on the shelves was exceptional. The only issue I had at all was that I thought I had contracted with him to do a staining, the inside and outside. He did not stain the inside but there may have been a miscommunication. I am not sure that I can fully blame him for that."

"He will bring them back and if I like the work, which I'm sure I will, then he's taking all the doors and drawers today and then he will return with them later in the week. He's also going to finish the box part of the cabinet, he re lacquer those and the rest of the doors. He's also fixing 3 chips in my ceramic tile floor. He called when he was running a few minutes late."

"The salesman was very courteous and explained the different options available. The installer worked very quietly and explained what he was doing. He was very neat and cleaned up the areas where he worked. He also gave me a lot of hints for caring for the enclosure. I was happy!"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in New Haven, IN

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
