Zach came out and priced out a couple of options from repair to replacement of the old line along with the risks of choosing one option over another. I went with the repair option. "My first impression of Thermo Direct was very favorable for the following reasons: (1) the timely response (within minutes) to my online request to Duke Energy for a referral (the scheduler [Loretta?] is an interesting lady [personality] who obviously knows her job and gave me confidence that she would take good care of me (Thanks!), (2) the same day appointment for a diagnostic visit (and what I assumed would be a repair on the same day or the next day), and (3) the photos shown to me and emailed to me today by the very courteous, polite, very competent, and trustworthy Service Technician, Corey Woodward. What I did not realize was that parts had to be ordered and received and that a future appointment for repairs would be needed before my downstairs, that was totally without heat for more than a week, could be safe and functional for me, an elderly person. However, Corey Woodward and Anita, the scheduler, restored my confidence in and respect for Thermo Direct by their prompt, courteous , and apologetic responses to my need for emergency repairs today (the Friday following my first contact with this company). Those two employees saved that company from a negative review from me. Thank you. I am grateful and now warm. "I have to be honest, I have been selfishly putting off leaving this review because I didn't want everyone knowing what a gem Edwin from PK Plumbing is. Edwin has come to our rescue WAY too often in the past year or so. Most recently, we had a massive leak in our crawl space which had apparently been going on for a long time before the pipe totally split. Edwin squeezed us in to come out and get the leak sorted out. Unfortunately, it took a couple of days because as he fixed one area, another would spring a leak. (Darned aging Polybutylene piping!) Edwin is extremely professional and definitely knows what he is doing. He is honest and friendly and doesn't charge you an arm and a leg like some companies would. We are fortunate to have found him and hope that he stays in business for a long time to come. I am pretty sure we will have to utilize him on a regular basis as the piping slowly fails in our house. (Unless we win the lottery to get all the pipes replaced in one fell swoop! We can hope! :D)"

The dispatcher was prompt and professional. They called me before the plumbing technician arrived with an ETA. The tech arrived on time and was very professional and knowledgeable. He explained everything before doing any work. He not only fixed the leak quickly but also made sure I know where and how to operate the water shut off, Checked the water pressure into the house and the pressure relief valve on the water heater. The rate was relatively reasonable for a 20 minute call; at least compared to estimates for the other 2 companies. I will keep this companies number in my phone contacts for future home repairs."
