"I first met Alan Mikol and worked with AM Window and Construction in 1993 when they renovated my kitchen and a bathroom. I was impressed with their workmanship, professionalism and ability to stay on budget and schedule. I moved out of state and when I returned to Pittsburgh ten years later, AM Window & Construction was the ONLY contractor I contacted to do some work at my new residence. â Some workâ has turned into a 19 year collaboration which has included adding air conditioning; replacing my double furnaces; all new windows; renovating a master bathroom; enclosing a screened-in porch; a new deck; renovating the laundry room and installing a new roof. To say that AM Window & Construction is my â go-toâ contractor is quite evident for multiple reasons. Alan Mikol is honest, professional and maintains constant communication concerning the job so I am never left in the dark about anything that is happening at my house-and he returns phone calls! "I can't say enough good things about Marc and his team! They did a full kitchen renovation. Marc sourced and coordinated with a great GC. They took down walls and reinforced floor joists and installed header beams. All throughout he was professional and so easy to work with. He has a fully comprehensive showroom- one stop shopping! He even does his own stone counter tops, so no waiting long stretches for another contractor. A big renovation requires putting a lot of trust in your contractor. To have someone who does what he says he'll do, sticks to his prices, and you can trust in your home while you're not there went a long way for us. And his commitment doesn't end when the project is over- he is always there to answer questions and stands by his works and follows up if any issues arise. "I had owned Deckmasters, a local deck/addition/sunroom company, so I understand well what is needed for a construction business to have happy customers. Mastercraft is approaching the mark, but it can improve in a few ways. There is one main accolade that I can provide without hesitation. The company and the two workers listen to the customer as the job is progressing and are more than willing to make any changes requested without hesitation. Another complement would be that the quality of the work is very good. I cannot in good conscience, however, provide a five star review. Primarily, this is due to a lack of project management by the owner, and jobsite cleanliness and organization by the workers. To some extent, I must share some of the blame for a messy jobsite. A dumpster was not necessary, but the lead contractor only removed waste on a trailer twice over a two week project. This, in the wintertime, leads to a messy garage. I would have appreciated more oversight by the owner."
