"I had already picked out carpeting and needed an installer to tell me how much I needed to order. I had one installer give me a quote and I questioned the amount of carpet he said to order. That was when I went on Angi and thankfully, Josh came to my rescue. He came to my house, measured the job I wanted to have done and the amount of carpet he said to order was much less than the first recommendation. I needed someone to make area rugs out of rolled carpet and a runner installed on stairs. Josh was extremely helpful and efficient in planning and scheduling my job. The installers were excellent, friendly and polite and went above and beyond to ensure I was very happy with the job. They were very meticulous in laying the area rugs and cleaning up any fibers and debris left behind when they were done. I will definitely be using and recommending Advanced Flooring N.Y., LLC in the future."

"Bob and James arrived on time and worked diligently until finished. Our stairs are old and due to some variations in construction each step had to be measured separately and the vertical vinyl trim individually cut to size. Bob installed the steps and James measured every single vertical section to exactly fit the stair trim. Both the sizing and color match came out perfectly and the installation exceeded expectations. Bob and James are highly skilled at their craft and we have used them many times in the past as well, with excellent results. Thanks Bob and James!"

"sAt this point I have made a decision to buy carpeting from another large store; the reason being <br /> a saleswoman explained exactly what to look for with a focus on the pile, the content of the fibers, the importance of padding, <br /> in carpeting a room in my house which will be put up for sale in the future. This information was <br /> very helpful in finally deciding on how to proceed.. <br /> This review is only a store visit and no actual work in my home took place. <br /> <br />"

" I purchased all new stainless steel kitchen appliances from them. The ice machine in the refrigerator never worked correctly from the first day. After three years the ice machine completely  stopped working. The appliances were manufactured by Frigidaire which is no fault of ruby and quiri. They came with a updated version of the ice machine were very punctual and the service person was very conscientious."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in New Lebanon, NY

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
