"I live in Apollo Beach and had a sprinkler pump that had stopped working. I called the people that installed the pump. It was about 5 years old. They told me that I needed a new pump and that the pump I had was not the correct one (even though their company installed it). That a new 40' line from the well to the pump was needed. They quoted me $3500. I knew better. I called Bay Area Pump and Well Service right here in Apollo Beach. Wesley Carter and his son came out right on time. They diagnosed the problem as a bad check valve at the well connection and replaced it. They also cleaned out my jet pump and redid the input plumbing into the pump. Installed a ball valve. He explained to me why and how the pump malfunctioned and what he did. They were respectful, courteous and professional. Their charge for parts and service was $200 that included a service charge. They saved me a lot of money. They will be recommended to my family and friends if they need this service. They are honest and reliable."

"Jason J. looked over the existing water heater and outside water line, explained the process for the replacement and a remedy to an abnormal water line hookup. He examined the plumbing in all of the house to check for problems. He gave us the lowest estimate of 3 and returned the next afternoon to do the work. The work area was clean when he was finished, and the job was well done. Jason is very polite and knowledgeable."

"Woke up to no running water, I called Mike at Hillsborough Pump and Well at 7:30 am, he was there by 9:30. After checking the system and explaining what he found, he gave me the bad news, both my pump and tank needed to be replaced. I paid my $95 check out fee, (which he later applied to the repair) and told him I was going to get some other quotes. He was very helpful and provided me a written quote with specifics on the type of equipment he recommended. After making several calls and researching a bit online, I found his price to be competitive, but not the lowest, most importantly he was able to start right away. Mike came back the same day around 12:30 and started the job. Everything went fine, the job was done much faster than I had expected, then Mike ran into a problem. We were getting water to the house but not in the house. After spending a bunch of extra time he discovered a piece of the old pump had clogged one of the pipes inside the house. He did not charge me any extra for the additional labor or materials needed to correct the issue. I appreciated the extra effort and his professionalism. <br />"

"The spa jets were not working. We got an immediate response to our call, with someone at our house within 2 days of the service call. The original problem was fixed within minutes, a motor leak was discovered which would have eventually burned out our motor; this repair was delayed by a day due to the need for getting a part. Everything was fixed quickly and efficiently with little impact on us, except for getting our spa back into working order."

"The whole process went about as well as any repair I've ever had.  The office person I spoke to twice was friendly and promised to call before the technician showed up, which happened about an hour after I initially called for service. <br /> Danny showed up 10 minutes later and immediately was very engaging and demonstrated a great deal of knowledge as he began troubleshooting.  It only took him about 15 minutes to determine the cause wasn't a failed pump, but instead some bad wiring.  He repaired the wires and replaced the pump controller that got fried due to the short then tested the system to ensure the system was operating within specs. <br /> Everything is working great again.  If I ever need service again I'm going to ask for Danny! <br /> Thanks for a great job, <br /> Doug Mobley <br />"

"Scott did a great job repairing our sprinkler system. Our system had not been in operation for 5+ years. He had to find the valve box which was buried. Then he had to troubleshoot why our pressure was so low. He found a break in our line 2 feet underground. Scott was pretty awesome. Great service at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend."

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in New Port Richey, FL

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
