"My old chimney required a lot of work. The owner made sure the job was done right. I am very satisfied, and believe I got my moneyâ s worth. Both the owner and his crew were very polite and respectful, and cleaned up their work area well before leaving. The repaired chimney looks good."

"The installers came Friday afternoon on March 20th and got right to work.   The carpet had been installed three years ago and
had developed several wrinkles which did not look well and could cause tripping down the line.
The job was completed in about an hour and a half and looked like it had just been installed.  They also  repaired  a loop in the carpet that was coming loose.   We were pleased with the results of the carpet stretching and repair.
We will definitely use this service again.

"I had multiple people come over to give me quotes for a built in bookshelf unit which would end up being 10 ft tall by 12 feet wide with a ladder, I had an idea of what I wanted done.  Andy was able to do what I wanted and gave me ideas of how to improve it.  Everything that I wanted done he said could be done.  The other providers either said it couldn't be done or altered the plans due to construction needs which were not necessary.  He was also the only one willing to stain the shelves prior to install where everyone else would build and install them but said I had to hire another company to stain them.  He took the measurements,  drew up plans for me to approve, built the unit at his workshop, and then picked a day to install.  He came with one assistant and worked through the day to install it.  The final project was well beyond my expectations.  He interacted great with my children and even allowed my 3 year old son to safely feel like he was assisting in part of the project (putting in the shelf pins).  He was not the cheapest bid but did work with me on the price as I was hiring him in the winter time when he wasn't as busy.  I did take photos but they wouldn't load for some reason.  He also left me a drill bit for the shelf pin holes incase I wanted to arrange the shelves differently than the standard set up.  The shelving unit is rock solid and able to hold multiple grown men climbing on it while fully loaded with hundreds of books. I would happily use him again for a custom carpentry project.

"Using Angie's List I reviewed potential companies, and finally decided upon Razor Rock after Ray Batten came to our home and discussed the entire process, gave assurances of a high quality effort, and combined his expertise with his painter in a packaged bid. Ray has an "old school" approach to his clients. He is the person who does most of the work floor work and oversees one or two other individuals who were involved with patch work, painting, and clean up. The results were outstanding. Ray was committed to finish the work as scheduled and offered up additional suggestions which included a low cost border around the entire base of the garage, where the dry wall was slightly gaped by a 2x4 foundation timber. Ray is very knowledgeable, listens well, and wants to give the best professional job possible. His cost for the work on our garage floor was about $5 per square foot. You might be able to find epoxy coating done cheaper by other firms but no one could do it better, based upon our experience. Ray is the best.I have enclosed a picture of Ray at the conclusion of the work on our garage. Ray by the way completed his excellent efforts on time and as quoted regardless of the high temperature and humidity."

FAQs for carpet repair, refasten, or stretch projects in New-ross, IN

Removing a rug costs around $0.40 to $0.50 per square foot. This includes the fee for a contractor to roll up the rug and haul it away in a vehicle for disposal or recycling. If they need to move furniture, they might charge an additional $0.25 to $0.30 per square foot of furniture.

If your carpet has minor damage—like a single area that requires stretching, patching, or cleaning—it might be less expensive to pay for carpet repair than remove and replace it. Repairing carpet costs around $210 per project.

The cost of carpet cleaning is about $190 for a three-bedroom home, so it’s a good idea to have your carpet cleaned at least once a year. But most carpeting only lasts 10 years. If your carpet is nearing the end of its life span, it might be more cost-effective to remove and replace your carpet than to clean and repair it. The average cost to install a new carpet is about $1,800.

Search our directory of carpet removal companies and services to find an affordable, screened contractor near you. All HomeAdvisor listings are vetted, reviewed, and rated by homeowners, so you can be sure to find a local pro qualified for your project. Get at least three quotes to compare prices and the timeline for your project.

Commercial carpet removal usually costs on the lower end of the carpet removal price range, around $1.10 per square foot or even less. Carpet installation contractors often offer discounted rates for larger projects, like commercial carpet removal and installation. Similarly, you might be able to negotiate a lower residential carpet removal cost if the carpet is pulled up throughout your entire home.

Most cities accept old carpets as bulk trash, but you may need to schedule a special pickup and prepare the carpet properly. Remove any nails or glue residue, cut the carpet into manageable pieces, and roll and secure them. Alternatively, you can take your old carpet to a local recycling center for a small fee, where it can be processed and repurposed.

Yes, you can remove carpet yourself if you're ready for a labor-intensive task. DIY carpet removal requires heavy lifting and tools like utility knives, pliers, and pry bars. The process is generally straightforward but time-consuming for stapled-down carpet. If your carpet is glued down or you're worried about damaging the subfloor, hiring a professional is best to ensure the job is done safely and efficiently.
