"These guys were great. The team came in and removed all the old carpet, re-installed the new padding and carpet, trimmed everything as requested, reinstalled all the doors and hardware. No mess no fuss. Took about 2 hours. I will ask them back soon for the upstairs carpeting. Courteous, generous, and helpful.

"

"Sandi Ryan responded to my phone call, answering it promptly. Based on my square foot calculation, she gave me a "ball park" estimate and expressed willingness to travel to my home in the foothills east of Fresno, adding that she was familiar with the area. During our discussion, I stated that we planned to move the furniture out of the way onto our deck and Sandi said she offered a discount if she didn't need to move furniture. When the appointment day neared, rain was predicted so I phoned to see if we could reschedule. Sandi understood and readily rescheduled. On the day of the appointment, she phoned on the way to let me know that she had been delayed briefly--she arrived within 15 minutes of the scheduled time. She looked over the job, and listened to my concern about a previous cleaning by a different provider that was not satisfactory, reassuring me that the fact that she was certified meant that I would be happy with the results. She measured the rooms and gave me the price, which was very close to her telephone estimate. She and her helper went right to work and were finished in an hour; and I was indeed pleased with the job. Even high traffic areas like the stairs, the office, and the eating area were much improved."

"The owner of Handyman Unlimited is a charming and charismatic guy. He has good ideas and seems genuinely interested in doing an excellent job. We had used Handyman Unlimited for a laundry list of household repairs on our 70 year old home, and the worker who was sent, Walter, was a great problem-solver and technician. So, we didn't hesitate when the proposal for the bathroom remodel was presented. Great workers, good follow-through and beautiful design ideas. What could go wrong?
Well, the company is stretched so thin that the promise that scheduling would be continuous and the entire job would take 2-3 weeks was not possible. We had days when there were workers tripping over each other and days when somebody showed up unannounced and then couldn't do the work that he was scheduled to do. We had problems with materials; we went to the vendors where the owner sent us to pick out fixtures and tile and then he didn't place the orders until the demo was started, only to find out that there were delays on the floor tile, delays on the faucet set. The electrician picked up the materials, dropped them off without checking the cartons and when he came back to do the installation, there were parts wrong or missing.
Some of the tradesmen were brilliant: Robert, who does dry wall, Moses, who does tile work -- so skilled, so caring, really great to have them in the house.
Some -- not so much. The painting subcontractor sent a team of painters who were obviously being paid by the hour, not the job. They were also obviously being charged for materials; they didn't want to lay plastic down to cover the stairs and there was a lot of screaming on a cellphone about, I think, quantity of paint. They spent over 9 hours painting a bathroom area that should have taken much less time.
The plumber was in completely over his head. The house was 70 years old when Tom came and bid the job and it was 70 years old when the plumber showed up. The plumbing was 70 years old. Still is. And yet the plumber didn't seem to be able to solve any of the problems that came up. He installed the new whirlpool tub, filled it with water and then discovered that the drain was blocked. He bailed the tub out and left. We never saw him again. Good thing we had a really competent plumber who has worked in this house for years; he came over and solved the problem. I would never have believed that Handyman Unlimited was responsible for the charges to clear that drain no matter who cleared it. But to just leave with the problem unresolved and then to not hear from the company first thing the next morning was inappropriate.
Like I said, the owner is charming and charismatic. However, until he finds more tradesmen, and better plumbers to send to your remodel job, I would look for somebody else.
Having said all that, the bathroom is GORGEOUS!
The 2-3 week job took 8 1/2 weeks. Don't know if that would be considered normal for a remodel, but we didn't move walls, we just put in a new tub and new tile. Maybe it was so disruptive because this is the en suite bathroom in our master bedroom, so the construction zone was our bedroom.
"

"From start to finish, Advance Solutions did an outstanding job remodeling our master bathroom! Anyone who lives in Eastvale knows all about the plastic liner showers that the builders use. Ours cracked on the bottom of the shower floor, and by the time we hired Advance Solutions we were so ready to say goodbye to the nasty plastic, and hello to a nice tiled shower. We were expecting a simple tiled shower and bath, but what we got from Ray and his team at Advance Solutions was so much more. It greatly exceeded our expectations! Our bathroom is a work of art, with a beautiful tiled shower and tub, gorgeous tiled floor, new granite counter tops, new lighting, mirrors, and so much more. Ray was very patient and helpful in creating a color scheme that adds beauty and value to our house. He walked us through every step, and it was clear that our project was a priority for him. He even went so far as to call me one day and tell me that he didn?t like the granite backsplash they had already installed, and that he wanted to change it to put in a feature wall that would look even better. The granite backsplash looked good, but the mosaic feature wall he changed it to is amazing! It is one of my favorite parts of the bathroom! This really showed me how much Ray cares about the work that he is doing. Most contractors would simply have left the granite backsplash in place. It looked good, but Ray wanted our bathroom to look great. I was truly impressed with his work ethic and attention to detail. This was also true of the team of workers that Ray has assembled at Advance Solutions. Victor, Alfredo, Nestor, and the rest of the guys who worked on our bathroom were personable, on time, and knowledgeable about the work they were doing. Their work was clean, and they made every effort to protect the areas of our house they weren?t working on. They put down cardboard to protect the carpet, and used drop cloths to protect the stairs. Stacey is Ray?s secretary, and she does a great job of fielding calls for Ray. One of the things I liked most is that questions we had ran through Stacey, and she promptly got answers from Ray and got back to us. This made it clear that when Ray was meeting with us and working on our project, he was focused on our work. Having to field phone calls for other projects did not distract him. Ray?s focus was 100% on our job, and working to make our bathroom look amazing! I highly recommend Advance Solutions, and am already looking forward to hiring them to redo our other ?builder special? bathroom.

"

"
In 25 years this is the best experience we have ever had with a contractor.
The whole process started with our upstairs toilet overflowing. Unfortunately this happened without the knowledge of anyone in the household and occurred just as we were leaving the house for a 4 hour shopping trip. When we came home the bathroom and most of the downstairs area was flooded. We reported this to our insurance company and were able to get the water mitigation and demolition completed with one of their suggested contractors. We then spent 8 weeks working with a couple of contractors trying to come to an agreement so we could get the repairs done. Even our insurance company was frustrated with the poor communication and effort these contractors exhibited. Just when we were ready to give up on ever getting the repairs completed, someone from work referred us to Builderzz.
I called Builderzz that night and spoke with Yoav Arielli who goes by Joe. We agreed to meet the next night. When Joe came to give his estimate, I shared the insurance estimate with him to help ensure that he didn't miss quoting anything. Joe did a quick review of their estimate and said that he felt that the price they were estimating on many of the repairs we needed were overstated. He was confident that he could give us an estimate well within the allowance we had received from the insurance company. By the time we finished our meeting, my wife and I were sold on Joe and his company. We agreed before he left to get the work done by Builderzz. We expected to have to wait a week or two before getting started but Joe said he could have two members of his team out the following day! My wife and I were going to be away at work so we arranged for my 81 year old mother to be home to let them in at 8:00 AM and to stay with our dogs while we were away. By the time we got home at 6:00 PM, the two workers and Joe were still there! We were amazed to find that they had not only installed all of the drywall, but had also installed the recessed lighting. My mother later told me that Eliseo, the worker who had been working in the kitchen, worked pretty much non stop. The next day was a Saturday and these guys don't seem to ever rest. Once again, they were at our house all day, prepping the drywall, texturing, removing wallpaper. Eliseo in particular is an artist. By the end of the day our kitchen looked tremendous. And Joe was a presence as well visiting or calling on a regular basis to make sure everything was going along smoothly.
A couple of days later, when the kitchen was ready for sanding and primer, I called Joe to make sure our appointment was still on schedule. Of course, he said, asking if we had chosen our vanities, offering to pick them up himself if we needed his help.
In an effort to save money my wife and I decided to help with the painting. We worked with Daniel and he was a real pro, offering suggestions to help improve the outcome.
Joe and Builderzz have gone above and beyond numerous times and in ways we didn't expect and we highly recommend them. We'll certainly use them again."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Newberry Springs, CA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
