"After dodging the rain, Paul was finally able to seal my driveway, and also repair a small patch of asphalt at the edge, arrived , and went to work right away, and had the job completed in 1 1/2 hours. I had concerns, of it drying in time, before the heavy rain arriving the next morning, but it worked out fine, and looks great, friendly and professional. Not the biggest company out there, but they use a quality product and do good work."

"Craig and his team communicated well. They did a fine job. And most importantly, they came back to re-seal because a storm hit right when they were finishing up. They came back a second time to repair another area of the asphalt drive. Very trustworthy, quality work."

"I contacted them in May 2013, but due to prior committments and weather delays, they performed the work in July.  Stone Brothers removed and hauled away our old asphalt driveway, leveled and graded and compacted the existing base, installed two compacted inches of #404 asphalt, rolled and compacted the surface, tamped the edges, sealed the seam at curb with tar. <br />"

"Very reasonable. Arrived on time. Did a great job replacing porch and sidewalk. Power washed and sealed driveway. Looks great. Some minor issues with clean up, but promptly returned and corrected the issues. Would hire again."

"This was a project I'd needed to do for several years. The old maple out front was all but dead and had to be removed, along with the massive root base. A tree service cut down the tree and ground down the stump all around and beneath the sidewalk and steps. Martin's crew came in, widened the sidewalk paths, poured concrete base and laid the stone tiles and brick on mortar atop the concrete. Everything is level, even and precision-cut. We get a lot of compliments, and since the improvements are in the front of the house, I get to enjoy what I paid for everytime I come home. <br /> Martin is a small, family-owned operation who goes from job to job and doesn't have an office staff to take calls and make appointments. I always caught Martin on his cell on the fly. Once he got started, he and/or his crew saw it straight through, aside from rain days. He always asked if I was happy with various details and was quick to bring to my attention any unexpected developments or unaddressed issues. <br />"

"I got three estimates last fall for having my driveway repaved.  I chose Trampler Brothers because their representative gave me a detailed description of the work that needed to be done and how it would be done.  The other two companies just measured the driveway and gave me a cost figure.  Trampler Brothers' cost was about 20% higher than the other two, but I had more faith in the quality and thoroughness of their work after talking to their representative.  It was too late in the season for the repaving to be done last fall, but they called me in late March, as soon as the weather permitted, and scheduled the job. <br> <br>A very large crew arrived about 10:00 am on the appointed day and immediately got to work energetically.  They scraped and hauled away all the broken or loose asphalt in no time at all.  Once the stone arrived on a dump truck, they went to work with the paving machine.  Workers meticulously went around all the edges to make sure the asphalt interfaced neatly and cleanly with the masonry borders of my drive.  They also removed about 1.5 inches of asphalt where the drive approaches my garage, so that the resulting repaving would be perfectly level with the garage floor.  Drainage holes were made where needed on one side of the drive.  The edges of the drive out near the street were very neatly bevelled.  The whole operation took about five hours and they cleaned up nicely afterwards.  I asked about how to care for the asphalt and they gave me a booklet with a lot of good information in it. <br> <br>Overall I was very satisfied with the quality of the work and the staff that did it.  I think it was worth paying a small premium for a job this well done. <br> <br>"

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Newport, KY

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
