Dana came to my home to give me an estimate for the job and wound up taking the chairs with him that day. I had made some inquiries with other upholsterers and found his rate to be consistent with most of them. Note: because I provided the fabric (i.e., didn't buy through him), the charge per chair was a little higher. Dana gave a realistic projection for completion of the project (3-4 weeks) and delivered the reupholstered chairs to my home within the estimated timeframe. <br /> In terms of the quality of the work, I had purchased what I believed was an ample amount of fabric for 8 chairs. As it turns out, I had barely enough for the job. However, although I told him it was not necessary to exactly match the pattern (repeat) on all the chairs, Dana was able to make it work--all 8 seats are exactly the same.
