I called very late in the year (late Nov) with a leak on a 20 year old roof that was getting towards the end of its life and they went the extra mile to come right out for an assessment and quick repair as that time of year it's usually tough to get a job like that done on short notice. I decide to be proactive and get on their spring schedule for a full replacement and they ended up squeezing me in a few weeks later as weather had cooperated. "I have an interlocking shingle metal roof that needed a new vent pipe boot put on it by someone specially trained to work on this kind of roof. After other roofers had previously come by only to say they were not able to work on this kind of roof, Anthony and Aaron from Tar Star came by within an hour of my request for an estimate. They quoted me a fair price (better than other quotes I got) and best of all, they knew what they were doing and special ordered the right boot and put it on the very next morning. "The experience was very stressful. The siding crew was very rough on our 1774 home. They damaged portions of the trim, a window, and the metal roof. I had to constantly monitor the crew to make sure they minimized damage and completed the work correctly. It was difficult communicating with the Spanish-speaking crew. Materials are in my yard that still have not been picked up 2 weeks later. The finished siding looks good, but that is the best complement I can make. I had doors replaced by Power on a previous job and was very satisfied. I would be cautious recommending Power for siding replacement on a similar old house."
