"They were pretty reasonable. I checked with other places and they were the most reasonable. They were really good. They were here right away. They were very professional, nice and clean. Their representative was dressed nicely and professionally. The installer was very nice and helpful. They explained everything that they were going to do and how long it was going to take; they were right on all of it. It was good appointment. They were excellent. I have used them since about a month ago. I thought I had a plumbing issue with my upstairs bathroom. I thought that the toilet was leaking and coming down the wall. They sent someone out here and what I thought was going to be several hundred dollars for the plumbing repair turned out to be just a simple broken plastic line from the refrigerator in the kitchen downstairs. T. hey replaced it within half an hour and cost under a dollar for the service call. They spotted it right away. They were great."

"Once Bob Waters and his son Cody and associate Chance arrived on site, the work that I contracted for him to do went flawlessly and was completed in a timely and very professional manner! Bob and his crew followed the written quote he provided to me to the letter and there were no surprises, or additional charges. He brought screened top soil to lay down as needed and when Cody spotted some low spots around my yard, he asked if I wanted them to drop some top soil to those areas as well; which they did and at no extra charge. The website is very informative and outlines the scope of the Company's offerings and capabilities. Needless to say I would highly recommend Waters Basement Services to anyone requiring the services that they provide. You can tell that this is a family owned business, from the pride that Bob excludes when talking about his wife running the front office, to his son and potentially his grandsons working with him taking care of Customers in the future! BRAVO!!"

"My existing sump pump failed during an unexpected ice storm two years ago, causing water to flood the basement. After seeing the plumbing supply company at a local "home products" show, I decided a water powered back up sump pump was something I should have to prevent a flooded basement in the future. The company sent a sub-contractor to install the product. He arrived late but called before hand to let me know. He said it would take two hours to install but it only took 1-1/2 hours. The work was done neatly and I was given instructions what to expect if the back up sump pump were to go on in the event my primary sump pump failed."

"During a conversion from a 2-family to a single-family home, the gas pipe to the dryer in the basement was overlooked and not connected to the gas lines associated with the remaining gas meter. Z&R connected the dryer to the gas line. They also removed a newer kitchen faucet from the 2nd floor kitchen sink and installed it onto the first floor kitchen sink. Additionally, the replaced the water shut-offs on the 2nd floor sink so that I could demo that sink and counter area entirely. They had the work done within a few hours. All of this was done 9 months ago, and I haven't had a single issue since then."

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Niagara Falls, NY

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
