"Highly recommend John Scott Roofing! John provided excellent customer service and attention to detail from review of the job, the quote (which was very reasonable), to installment. He answered all our questions and made great recommendations. Everything was included in the quote, from permit fees to the paperwork for the insurance company. John’s crew have been with him for many years, were professional and provided quality workmanship. They worked diligently during the day and cleaned up the debris from all around the outside of the house. You would never know they had been there other than a great looking roof! Thank you John Scott and his crew!"

"Excellent roofing company. Showed on time, used quality underlay and shingles, bonded, insured and work was done in a day & 1/2. When the inspector came he said they did a real nice job. They needed to take off my lightning protection and when they finished the cables were left on the ground. A call to the owner John resolved that by sending his area supervisor over in ten minutes. I recommend them highly."

"I can’t say enough positive words to describe my recent service from Brothers Roofing. Dan was extremely punctual in returning my call, quoting the business, and answering my many questions. When I asked if he could fit me in on very short notice because my first child was due any day he came through to ensure that we wouldn’t be disrupted after bringing home the baby. Additionally, Dan and his team took many pictures throughout the job and did spectacular work. Everything was thoroughly explained and the property was left completely cleaned. Dan used the best product on the market and was extremely reasonable compared to other contractors. I have found a roofer for life in Dan, and Brothers Roofing! To top things off, Dan left a flower arrangement and a Thank You/Congratulations card for when we got home. Completely unnecessary, but so very much appreciated. I can’t wait to refer Dan and Brothers Roofing to anyone and everyone!"

"I have a fairly large roof (total size is 5000 square feet -- in roofing terms, that is 50 squares). The going rate for Angie's List A+ Contractors in Tampa appears to be between $290.00 to $340.00 per square. Good Neighbor charged $245.00, which brought the price to $12,250.00.  Prior to contracting with Good Neighbor, I got price quotes from five Angie's List A-rated providers.  All of them came in at $15-17K for the same project.
Note that I had a problem area on my roof where three sections intersect and had been causing a leak in my den for months.  Good Neighbor came back on site after the first rain subsequent to the roof installation, because we detected that the leak issue persisted.  They put on additional sealant, underlayment, metal drip edge and flashing that ultimately eliminated this issue.  This was not a straightforward fix -- in the past, I had had two other roofers come out and try to fix it with no success.  Good Neighbor were on-site for almost an entire day addressing this issue to my satisfaction at no additional charge on the project.
So, in all, Jim Fernandez and Good Neighbor Roofing, Inc. were the best price by far and provided very professional and excellent service.  My new roof looks great.  I highly recommend them for your roofing needs.

"We could not be happier with how our new tile roof turned out! The entire crew - from office to installers and owner - are professional and kind. The installation crew was respectful of our property each and every day making sure they cleaned up before they left. The owner Billy Creech came by repeatedly to make sure everything on was on track and answer any questions we may have had. You will not go wrong using Duramax for roofing repairs or replacement. Thank you!!!"

"Rep. checked entire system. He found several wires not connected properly and fixed this. He also made recommendations regarding the attachment of the panels to the rood that would provide more stability and leakproofing. The representative appeared to know what he was doing - much better than others, including the representative who was engaged by the roofer (who replaced our rood due to hail damage) to disconnect/connect the panels."

"I called Rick to get a price to clean my shingle roof. He gave me an estimate the same day. I was happy with the price, so I scheduled the work to be done. Rick showed up on time and he started working right away. He let the roof dry, checked everything over, and cleaned up after himself. I am very happy with the work and the price. Will be using them in the near future."

"After countless roofing companies with high prices and bad attitudes I was getting really depressed. We had a roof that needed to be replaced and we were getting nowhere. And then, Roof X!!! This is the most amazing company I have ever dealt with! They saw the problem, knew exactly what needed to be done and just took charge. Every single person we dealt with was kind, professional, empathetic and knowledgeable and the result is that we have a beautiful new roof. The 4 men who came out last Saturday morning started at 7:30 and never stopped until after 5 when the roof was complete and the area cleaned up. I would recommend Roof X to anyone who needed work done and I am grateful that we found them"

"Absolutely HANDS DOWN would Highly recommend. ? They went out of their way to find and order (on a holiday weekend when other RV repair companies said they were closed) a new converter for my RV that was blown out when the power went out in our area and I found out I did not have a good surge protector. They helped me with replacing a much better surge protector as well. I have also hired them for additional work to be done with re-sealing my RV roof and 3 slide-outs and to wash/wax my RV. Many Thanks and now my Go-To! Jess."

FAQs for heating cable for roof installation projects in Nobleton, FL

A typical heat cable uses 5 watts per foot, regardless of the outside temperature. So, if your cable is 100 feet long, it uses 500 watts per hour. Expect to pay an additional $40 to $200 or more per month on your electricity bill. Be sure to turn manual cables off in the summer when you don't need them.

To install heat tape on your roof, place it along the lower edge in a precise zig-zag pattern to maximize coverage and heat distribution. Professional installers secure the tape with specialized clips that attach firmly to your shingles. This method ensures even heat distribution to effectively melt ice and snow while maintaining your roof's integrity during severe winter conditions.

Choosing between heated gutters and roof heating cables usually comes down to budget, appearance, and performance. Heated gutters cost less to install and blend seamlessly with your home’s exterior, making them a discreet, lower-cost option for preventing ice dams. Roof heating cables deliver more customizable and powerful heat along roof edges to handle heavy snow and ice, but they require more material and labor, increasing your upfront investment. Evaluate your roof design, winter weather demands, and energy budget to select the system that works best for your property.

Roof heating cables prevent ice dams by melting snow and stopping ice buildup at the roof edge. Ice damming occurs when melting snow refreezes on a cold roof—often right above the gutter line—and blocks water from draining, which can force moisture under shingles into your home. Heating cables maintain a warm channel that clears ice dams as soon as they form and protects your roof from water damage and structural issues.

Roof heating cables last between two and ten years before replacement is needed, wearing out faster than your roof itself. Their lifespan depends on climate severity, cable type, and exposure to physical damage. Consistent inspections and preventative maintenance—such as clearing debris, tightening clips, and checking electrical connections—can extend their service life and ensure reliable snow and ice protection each winter.

To safely remove snow from your roof, start with a specially designed roof rake, standing firmly on the ground and pulling snow downhill rather than climbing onto the roof. You can also apply calcium chloride ice melt to break up stubborn ice or gently use a secured rope from a safe vantage point.

Keep in mind that large snow slabs can weigh hundreds of pounds and pose a serious fall risk. If conditions are hazardous or you lack the right equipment, hire a professional to protect your safety and your roof’s integrity.
