"Very well. Work was done on schedule, in less time than estimated, and excellent quality. Nothing had to be redone or corrected. The two crew members worked steadily and quietly- no loud radios, etc. Most important, their work was excellent- everything painted to perfection."

"It went great, Gabe and his team were affordable and willing to work with us on cost. They arrived promptly when they said they would and were very responsive to us. Gabe constantly checked in with us to make sure we were happy with the service. They added missing shingles and did other little things to improve the house without us asking them to do so or quoting it. When the job was complete it was very well done and we were very satisfied. We would recommend Gabe and his team to anyone looking to have their home painted."

"I've known Ronney for a couple of years now and he is absolutely wonderful to work with. He will project manage everything and is very flexible with the types of services he can provide. For example, I needed a second thermostat installed upstairs which required HVAC expertise, electrical wires to be run a long way and then patch and painting for the walls and he handled all of those parts for me at a reasonable price. He's also done numerous other jobs (that were less complex) for me that were great as well."

"Sam's Masonry was great! Sam promptly came to the property to look at the job and quickly turned around a price quote. Sam's prices are VERY competitive and a great value for the quality of work performed. Over the course of two days, Sam was able to remove all the old mortar and caulking, clean the stairs, and replace the mortar with new cement. He was also able to cement some bricks on the sidewalk and help pitch the water away from the building. It worked perfectly! We look forward to working with Sam again!"

"Getting an estimate initially was difficult to coordinate and I almost gave up on this company. However, once Mike arrived on site everything went smoothly. A hardcopy estimate arrived shortly after the visit. The scope of work proposed was a bit more extensive than proposals from other masons. Mike explained the tradeoffs and the requirement to bring the 40 year old chimney up to current building code The repair was scheduled a week in advance with consideration for weather. The crew showed up on time and worked a ten hour shift to complete the work in one day. The quality of the work was excellent with good attention to detail. They did a great clean up with no evidence of their activity left behind."

"Chimney Chap did an excellent job replacing the termination cap on my Vermont Castings gas stove at a reasonable cost. The two technicians who performed the work were very professional and worked hard to overcome some unforeseen installation difficulties. From my initial e-mail to the installation of the cap, Chimney Chap was very responsive. Meanwhile, some other companies I contacted were unresponsive and less interested in performing a small installation project. I will surely contact Chimney Chap, Inc. in the future if I experience any problems with my gas stove."

FAQs for traditional stucco repair or partially replace projects in Norfolk, MA

Minor stucco fixes—like sealing small cracks or adding fresh caulk—often wrap up in an hour or two. Larger jobs that call for cutting out damaged sections, installing new lath, and layering fresh stucco can stretch to three or four days because each coat needs time to cure. A pro removes loose material, cleans and dampens the area, applies a bonding agent, and builds up new layers, matching texture and restoring the wall’s weather shield.

Watch for a stucco surface that stays damp days after a storm, develops dark stains, or feels soft or spongy under light pressure. Inside, moisture rings, peeling paint, or soft drywall around windows point to the same issue. Any of these red flags mean water is trapped behind the siding, and it’s time to call a stucco pro before rot or mold sets in.

Give your stucco a once-over every spring and fall. Semiannual checks let you catch hairline cracks, stains, or damp spots before they snowball into pricey repairs. Keep a flashlight handy, look closely around windows and doors, and call a pro if you notice anything soft or discolored. Staying ahead of minor issues protects both your curb appeal and your home’s weather barrier.

A pro starts by scraping away loose material, then cleans and lightly wets the area so new stucco will stick. After brushing on a bonding agent, they build fresh layers, letting each coat cure before adding the next. The final step is matching the texture and color so the patch blends in and the wall regains full weather protection.

Think of repair as a patch: the pro fixes only the visible crack or hole. Remediation goes deeper—crews strip away the compromised stucco, correct the root problem (often water or mold), then rebuild the wall. If tests show structural rot or trapped moisture, remediation is the safer, longer-lasting route; otherwise, a straightforward repair often does the trick.
