"Brandon agreed to put together our shed for $450. He and his helper arrived and we decided there was a need to put pavers/concrete stones down. He went to Home Depot and purchased the pavers, which he charged us $325. I later priced them at Home Depot and realized they should have cost $225. After he and his helper put down the stones, Brandon went and sat in his truck. His partner worked on the floor of the shed. I observed Brandon sitting in his truck in our driveway on three occasions. The 2nd time, I went to him and asked how it was going. He said the project was more complicated than he realized. "But we will get it done today." Very little work was observed after that. After around 6 hours, he came to our door and told us the corner panel did not fit into the holes and was defective (It's a snap together building). My husband made a call to the manufacturer and they agreed to send a replacement part. Brandon said there was nothing else they could do and he needed to leave to go to another job. He stated that since they had been here for 6 hours, they should be paid since they were here for that long. He told my husband that it was 75-80% finished. At that point my husband took him at his word. He said the concrete blocks came to $325 and then stated he needed to be able to pay his helper. My husband paid him for the concrete blocks, and since he agreed to return to finish the shed after the replacement panels arrived, he paid him for 1/2 of the project of $225. Since they had gone to Home Depot and purchased the stones for us, we added $70 as a tip. However, at that time we didn't realize he had overcharged us for the stones. The panels arrived a week later, and I texted him to let him know they were here and asked when he could come to finish the project. He responded that he would let me know, but he never did. My husband texted him on November 12th and said he would like to know when he could come finish. Brandon's return text said the earliest he could come back was December 4th. My husband heard back four days later and Brandon again said the soonest he could return was December 4th. I do apologize for any inconveniences but I was there to do the job and the product was not proper. That has nothing to do with me and has to do with the manufacturer. I do have other projects and customers that I have had booked. In no way, shape, or form am I trying to not get you taken care of. I have to run a business as well." The next day, my husband replied back to him, "Ok. We will see you on December 4th." On December 1st, I texted him and said, "We are still on for December 4th, right?" He never answered me. On December 2nd, my husband sent this text -- "I'm following up on Pam's text to confirm you will be here on December 4th to finish assembling the shed. Please confirm. Thank you, Paul." He never heard back from him. I sent a final text to see if he would confirm and told him I would have to contact Anji's List if he didn't respond. He did not. We gave up on Brandond and we hired another company. When they examined what he had done, they said the foundation was uneven and unstable and if they built the shed on it, it would crack. They also said there was no water-proofing done. They had to take it all apart, put sand down to level the ground. They said the pieces had not fit because the foundation was done wrong. The panels were not defective. "
