"Very responsive - came to location and provided an estimate the day after we called.  Very flexible - did the rough plumbing and waited for us to get the carpentry and electrical installed before scheduling the finish plumbing.  Did the work as discussed, cleaned after themselves and were very friendly and good to work with.  Would definitely call again. <br />"

"Ben's work was flawless. He had to build up a border around the door as the old sidelights weren't standard size. The end result was beautiful and a wonderful focal point to the entryway. I was also very impressed with his painter whose work was perfection. I would not hesitate to recommend Hyatt Construction for any home improvement project."

"They did a great job and spent longer than expected as he said was the drain was clogged with something rock hard, turns out that using too much Liquid Plummer and not getting any results and letting repair go too long to call in a Pro leads to really clogged drain. Needless to say Steve got it all cleared and even tho he spent that much time he charged me $50 less than he quoted me, I will call on him next time I need work done."

"JOB# RA206214 Brendan & Damon date 6/21/22 This crew was absolutely amazing. These young men showed professionalism and knowledge of the equipment. The generator was installed in a timely fashion and they were more than efficient on the knowledge of the equipment that they installed. Pricing was also good. This is our first time in dealing with Holland and it will not be our last. They are our definite go to for all our heating and plumbing needs. Thank you so much."

"We realized we had a leak on a Saturday morning in early May. We looked in the yellow pages of our local phone book and saw the ad for Cooper and Son, which said they had 24 hour service, 7 days a week. We decided to call them since they were in our immediate area. Mrs. Cooper answered our call and said her husband would be here within an hour, and he certainly was! He told us what had to be done, gave a quote and said he could be here Monday morning with the new tank to do the job. We weren't available for it on Monday, but agreed on Tuesday. Mr. Cooper and his son were here first thing in the morning and were completely finished by noon. A day or so later, we noticed there was a leak at one of the joints and called them to say there was no hurry, but when they had time we 'd like them to stop by to fix it. That very afternoon, he was back to fix the leak, and we have had no problems since that time. Cooper and Son is located in North Branch and is a family owned business. We were very pleased with them and would recommend them to anyone."

"We hired Steve's Plumbing to move our main drain stack in the basement into a soffit area and move a gas water heater into another area. They were able to schedule us within a week of the original call. Two plumbers came out and they did an excellent job. Everything looked really professional and they cleaned up before they left."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in North Branch, MI

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
