"AWB took the time to explain what they would install, materials used, and what options were available. They arrived on time and finished on time. My driveway is finally done right and my neighbors are interested in hiring them. Fantastic job."

"Absolutely amazing job from start to finish. The crew was professional, on time, and paid attention to every detail. The asphalt came out smooth, clean, and looks better than I expected. They worked hard, cleaned everything up after, and made the whole process easy. You can tell they take pride in their work. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality paving work done right the first time."

"J. came and gave me a fair estimate. He did come back when there was no rain in the forecast and did a nice job filling in my cracks and sealcoating my driveway. I would recommend them. Other vendors I called did not even call me back or show up for an estimate."

"I highly recommend MHT for paving and landscaping. Paul Mercier is a true professional who really knows his business, and does an exceptional job at a rate that is not only comparable but very reasonable for the results you get. We hired Paul Mercier in the spring of 2015 to pave over our 20-year-old 440-foot driveway, which has two switchbacks and winds its way up a ledge. When the driveway was first laid in 1995, it was not done properly with enough of a foundation. Over the years we did various patch repairs, which never lasted for long. When we found Paul, we were overjoyed to have someone who knew what he was doing, and actually did it! Paul, along with his great crew, gave us a REAL driveway, with a 2-3” base, which has lasted for 3.5 years WITHOUT ANY CRACKS OR DAMAGE due to frost heaves since putting it in. This past September of 2018, we invited him back to seal coat the driveway, as well as shore up the edges with 3-4” stones to prevent washout on the sides of the driveway. He suggested adding some crushed gravel to one side of the driveway to create extra parking areas for our in-home business, which we proceeded to do and are very happy with. He also laid down some crushed gravel to prepare a patio under our deck for future installation. Paul is very thorough and detail-oriented, and will make suggestions based on your needs, and what will work for the long run as well as tell you what won’t. I recommend him HIGHLY for your next paving/landscaping project!"

"The work I needed was a bit unusual because, along with seal coating, it involved patching some large cracks, filling gaps between driveway and foundation, and replacing broken contract walkways with asphalt. I had difficulty finding a contractor that would do the work. That is, until I found Howard. He was prompt with the estimate and even more prompt with the work. He did a fantastic job at a very competitive price. Howard is very professional and pleasure to work with. The results looks great and I am quite pleased. I will hire him again for continuing maintains and I and recommend his services to anyone."

"I needed a landscaper because my lawn was a mess (more weeds and moss than grass, it seemed), and water was seeping into the basement because of improper gutter drainage and soil grading. Oh, and there was a critter, possibly the skunk that was seen in the area, burrowing underground where there was a gap near my patio – ugh! I hired M&L because the quote was reasonably priced, and Leo was responsive, understanding and cooperative as my landscaping project evolved. The job he ended up doing included building a trench for the gutter downflow, re-grading the entire lawn, creating flowerbeds, installing a fence, doing concrete work (to keep that critter out!), and paving a small section of the yard to hold trash and recycling bins. Leo and his team showed up when they said they would, worked quickly and efficiently, and with the greatest attitude – all of them were hard-working and easy to deal with. I will definitely hire M&L again for future landscaping jobs, and I highly recommend them to others. My lawn now looks nice and neat, can't wait for the new grass to grow. Thank you, Leo and crew!"

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in North Hampton, NH

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
