"The entire process went well. The estimate was made in a professional, inclusive manner. The installer arrived on time, worked with knowledge and expertise, answered our questions, and completed the installation early afternoon. He cleaned up the work area, removed the old carpet and took it away in his truck. We are very pleased, with the way our basement appears, now, and we are thankful to,have" had it done by Factorty Tile. <br />"

"Prior to contacting Mr. Walz, I had a very negative experience with the bait and switch shenanigans at Home Depot. The low installation rates they advertise is a joke, since they will not install unless you use the padding they dictate. I saved money and was very happy with the service and quality I received. Our room, hallway and stairs look great. <br />"

"Our purple carpet had about 100 urine stains from previous dogs and our own. The specialist, Robert, matched to color and treated every spot. If we didn't know where they were, we'd never know they spots had been there. Perfect job!"

"I was on a mad hunt for a vinyl flooring product that I found online. Most of the retailers listed didn't exist or they had never heard of the product. I contacted Collins and Co Inc. They were not listed, but still they searched and found what I was looking for. It's a product that was available only in South Korea. They ordered some samples of it, and I ended up going with the second product from the same company. They ordered and got it imported for me. They were absolutely wonderful. Now I am planning to buy some carpets from them. They were beyond everything that I expected, after dealing with more than 15 other foreign companies in the region. They were absolutely superb. I can say enough of good things about them. After I got in contact with Collins and Co, they have become my favorites, and I will work with them all the year round. It was just a small order of one box. It was very easy for them to pull me of, because it wasn't a huge profit for them, but still they did it. I spent under $200 to get those tiles. The price was fair and competitive. I will absolutely use them again in the future"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in North Liberty, IN

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
