The contractor did a great job in other areas such as framing, siding, deck building etc., but properly installing and aligning a door is a special skill that not everyone has. It is hard to find a real door hanger but after a search we found Tom. He was able to take apart and reinstall the sash and door and we now have a beautifully operating and sealed front door. "I chose Michael Lex Construction for my siding project for several reasons. I have an older, 1920’s house with cedar shingle siding. This consisted mostly of the original shingles but had missing shingles, a number of repairs done over the years as evidenced by newer shingles, which didn’t quite match, plus many layers of paint. I opted for a full house residing to create an overall even appearance and establish a known installation date. Mike, the owner, showed the greatest interest in restoring an older home and didn’t try to talk me into an engineered siding product. He had the most creative solutions for some tricky areas. I also had the last 2 original windows replaced. Because the windows were a slightly different size than the originals, Mike and his partner Chris, built new frames so the windows fit properly. I chose a hybrid window style with natural wood on the inside. Because they also replaced the window framing, I didn’t have to strip the paint from the old window frame as I’d intended, which was a happy side effect for me. I like that Mike is not only the owner but actually does the work vs. subcontracting or performing only project management. He has a vested interest in producing a quality result. The price was very competitive and the project was completed per the scope and time of the contract. Mike and Chris worked well together to create a beautiful outcome. I would certainly recommend this team and hire them again."

"Ron did an outstanding job on replacing some of the underlayment that needed to be replaced under the carpet. The damaged pieces were removed and the new underlayment was cut and replaced before I knew it. He also removed the threshold to the outside from that room and sealed the areas where the water might have been leaking. He also installed and metal kick-plate to the front door. I am very pleased at the quality and professionalism of Ron and his assistant."

I got bids from several contractors; all were pretty much in line with each other in terms of prices. There were two factors in my choice to go with Absolute Painting an Power Washing. First, the reviews I read from various sources shows their quality is stellar; second, their color consultant spent the time necessary with me to choose the right color ( not included in the bid ). They spent two full days stripping the door of its old paint, and then prepping and applying primer and paint to the shingles and door. When all was done, I was amazed at how it turned out. The new accent colors added character to the house. Their workmanship is second to none with no flaws in the areas they painted. They even went as far as providing touch up to the trim where paint had chipped off over the years. When I'm ready for the house to be fully repainted, I now know who to turn to."

"Ackerman beat out three vendors for the job, just by having a responsive receptionist with prompt scheduling. They scheduled the repair within a week. I actually forgot he was coming that day, but the plumber came on site, called me before the job started to ask a couple questions / make sure I knew what was happening, and followed up end of day with the final result. Billing was as projected, and invoicing was timely. I will *definitely* be calling Ackerman for anything plumbing related in the future, for our HOA. If there is a slight difference in cost (which I'm not sure there is), it's well worth it for responsive call backs / scheduling, service calls that happen when scheduled, and good communication throughout."
