"They did a great job with repairing our shed roof. It has rained hard a couple of times after they repaired it and everything is dry. They were careful that everything associated with our leaky roof was repaired correctly. They came when they said they would. Price was also reasonable. I would definitely recommend them."

"Hands down the best company I had the pleasure of dealing with. They did some drywall repair and painting at my house, their work is excellent. They made the process simple and stress free. The crew that came to my house was amazing and trustworthy, I had no problem leaving them alone when I had to go to work. They also cleaned everything once they were done. They are 5 stars all the way. I won’t hesitate to give them a call for more work."

"I called after hours on a weeknight after my kids accidentally broke a window, and Tracy had someone here the next morning at 8am to replace it. Everything went great, I was very grateful and will call again for future home repairs."

"We had a great experience with Path Hardwood floors. Not only did they provide an affordable quote but they took care of everything we needed and did an excellent job on our flooring. They were much more flexible than other companies in terms of working with our schedule and needs. Allen was very pleasant throughout the project. Highly recommend!"

"Matt was great to work with. From my 1st phone call to the end of the job he was very attentive & prompt. We had custom cabinets, a custom bar, a built-in & stair rails that all required painting. We had spent hours researching cabinet options & when we decided to have them custom built, we knew we would need a professional painter with experience to finish them, and that is exactly what we got with Matt. Everything came out perfect! During the process Matt & his co-worker were a pleasure to deal with & have in our home.
Everyone that comes overs is so impressed with just how gorgeous it all looks. I am so glad we found Matt & his company! We look forward to using them again on future projects!

"We needed a new lower roof and once the winter weather broke we got put into the schedule and the work was done promptly. Took them only one day to rip off the roof, cut out three bad spots and replace with new plywood. Then re-shingle the roof and re-side one wall. It looks great and best of all no leaks. Everyone was very professional, provided us pictures of the damage they fixed and left the property as clean as they found it. Great experience!

"We highly recommend JA Drywall. They are the best contractors we have used in the South Jersey area! We used them for a large job to frame, drywall, spackle and trim the attic plus fit doors for storage spaces. They were response to our request for a quote, provided a clear break-down so we had full transparency of the costs and could select the amount of work we wanted to do at this time. Juan and Isaias were very friendly but professional. Isaias was onsite through the framing, drywall, trim work and door installation. Juan checked in with us regularly and visited to check the progress and quality of the work. They communicated really well - from arranging arrival times in the morning, and during the work to inform us about the progress of the project and to ask if any adjustments were required. They are extremely customer focussed and wanted to ensure we were happy at every stage of the work. They took a lot of care and went above and beyond to protect the wood floors and walls from damage when they had to bring the drywall through the house to the attic. During the job they were very tidy and cleaned up before they left every evening. We were also impressed with the attention to detail on the job which resulted in a great finish on the walls and trim work. Thank you Juan, Isaias, Noelle, Jorge and the rest of your crew. We were extremely happy with your work. Thank you. All round A+"

FAQs for wood stairs and railings repair projects in North Wales, PA

Hiring a pro to refinish wooden stairs means labor makes up 20% to 30% of your total budget. That price covers sanding, staining, and sealing each step. In most cases, a certified refinisher can tackle a 10-step staircase in about two hours, then apply stain and sealant for a durable, eye-catching finish that stands up to daily traffic.

A pro can sand a standard 10-step staircase in roughly two hours, then needs another four to six hours for each coat of stain and sealant to dry. DIYers should budget up to a week for sanding, staining, and sealing in stages. With a crew on site, the bulk of the work is completed in a single day, minimizing disruptions while still achieving a high-quality finish.

It’s possible to refinish stairs without full-scale sanding by using chemical strippers, power buffers, or simply layering a fresh finish over the existing coat. Chemical strippers break down old stains and sealants, while buffers quickly shave off surface material. Even so, a quick hand-sand with fine-grit paper helps the new finish bond properly and look smooth. As always, suit up in protective gear and follow product directions to keep your wood—and yourself—safe.

For most stair projects, you’ll want two sandpaper grits. Begin with 80- to 120-grit to strip the old finish and even out rough spots, then move to 150- to 220-grit for a smooth, ready-for-stain surface. A power sander speeds up the coarse pass, but switches to hand sanding with the fine grit in corners and along edges to keep abrasion even and give stain or sealer something to grab onto.
