"We had what I consider a standard vertical crack in our basement wall/foundation that needed repaired. We got a couple of quotes and Attack a Crack was the least expensive, came with a lifetime guarantee (others were 2-15 years) and the repair they did was less of an eye sore than what others planned to do. Two months later the seal has held and there hasn’t been any leaking. But I’m not concerned about the quality as I know they fixed another leak in our basement septic pipe years ago for the previous owner and there has never been an issue. I will call them first if we have other basement leaks."

"E&S are professional masonry engineers. They are good in design, punctual with the schedule, and skillful with the stones and the concrete. The retaining wall is sturdy and survived well from the big trucks of a pavement company. The stairs are wider than before, and more easy for aged people to go up and down. It has a complete new look. The small platform was my most concern. With years of raining, it was no longer flat and not safe. Now, it is filled with concrete. Again, it is sturdy. E&S are enthusiastic with the works. And they are interesting guys. It is really happy to work with them"

"Malcom Scott and his crew did an excellent job of installing a french drain in my basement with a battery backup sub pump. It was reasonable priced and done in a timely manor. Malcom was very professional, is easy to get along with and completed all the work according to our agreement. I would recommend him to everyone. Sincerely, Eric Davis"

"After several major rainstorms in October we noticed water pouring through a crack in our basement foundation, running from a basement window down to the floor.  We called Crack-X and they provided an estimate over the phone for completing the job.  We were able to schedule the job within a week.   They arrived on time, performed the service in a clean, timely, and professional manner, and the cost did not exceed the estimate received over the phone.  I would highly recommend Crack-X for this type of work."

"Excellent, was on time and perfect. Stonecare and Their team (sorry, forgot their name) were even able to lift the concrete wall and it was done perfectly. They even caulked around the entire area, cleaned it out etc. Used hydraulic lift to lift it and then put the foundation repair compound. THank you."

"I called for a quote, and they came over the same day. I got a very fair quote, and two days later he arrived when they said they would, fixed the cracks, and walked me through everything. He also stated if I had any issues at all, just call him. However, I'll tell you, the stuff they use is awesome, and it will be there long after the house is gone I would guess!! Great service, great friendly people, high quality materials, and enough said. If you need a foundation repair, you better call these folks as at least one of your options..."

"It went great. We were in good hands with the Ranieri family throughout the entire project. They are extremely reliable, diligent about keeping us informed about the process, and deeply knowledgeable about concrete deck installation and pool installation and care. Our 30+ year old 20x40 inground pool had crumbling old pavers around it and the pool plumbing needed replacing before we could put a deck in. The Ranieris were a one-stop-shop for this work. They replaced the plumbing, installed a new skimmer box, and poured a gorgeous curved edged 10' patio on one side and 4' deck around the rest of the pool. They are excellent communicators, keeping us informed all throughout the process and coordinated directly with our electrician to get the new ground wire installed and permitted before they poured. No hiccups at all with this process. This work happened this spring 2022, so there were supply and delivery issues with concrete that are outside of the contractor's control. From our perspective, the wait wasn't too bad, and the Ranieris kept us informed every step of the way. Their work is both art and science. We love what they built for us. We would hire the Ranieris for any future projects, and we highly recommend them."

FAQs for concrete foundation installation projects in Norwell, MA

A concrete footer is a relatively shallow column of concrete that sits below your foundation walls. Footers spread wider than the foundation, so they can support a higher amount of weight in critical spots, such as below walls. The exact dimensions of footers depend on the home, so larger structures need a larger footing.

To calculate footing size, you need to know the minimum width and depth for houses in your region. Multiplying the width by the linear footprint of the structure will give you the size in linear feet.

To convert linear feet into square feet, you can divide the width by 12. For example, an 18-inch footer is 1.5 square feet per linear foot. Multiply this number by the total in linear feet to get the answer in square feet.

Installing a pier and beam foundation costs $5 per square foot, or $8,000 to $15,000. This style is standard in homes built before the 1960s or those in flood-prone areas.

Concrete weight support ranges from 1,500 to 6,500 pounds per square inch, and footings need at least 3,500 to 4,500 pounds per square inch. Remember that your soil type, climate, and materials used will significantly affect how much weight your footings can hold, especially in certain areas.

It costs between $1,600 and $3,200 to pour a 20-by-20-foot concrete slab. These estimates are based on an average cost to pour a concrete slab of $4 to $8 per square foot. Be sure to discuss the specifics with a pro—they’ll give you an estimate of how much you can expect.

The cost to raise a house is between $3,200 and $10,000. This range refers to a form of repair that involves lifting the entire house to potentially remove the old foundation and build a new one or add to an existing one.
