"Moore Carpet did an incredible job. We needed the entire house carpeted (roughly 2600 sq ft). Their pricing was very good; the quality was great and finished it in a timely manner. We would recommend them to anyone looking for carpet!!!!! We sold our house three days after Moore installed the carpet."

"All About Home Services did a really good job on the big deal. They did the job in February around the 20th. There were additional charges other than the big deal but that was something that we requested. They didn't tack anything on. They cleaned all of our carpets. The carpets were old and it has been a year or so. I usually have another company but they did a really good job on them, even the stairs. They really did a good job on it. I was surprised. I would rate them 'A's on everything. We would use this provider again in the future. I have already recommended them to a couple of people at my work."

"Gary was great to work with. He brought samples of carpet to the initial appointment, and helped guide us in our selections. I spoke to several on his list of installers, trying to find one to fit our schedule. They all seemed professional and eager to help. The day of installation, the installers got a late start, and then got lost on the way to my house. That was the only snag. They worked swiftly to install, and the carpet looks great. I am very pleased with the whole experience."

"After coming home one day and realizing that our master bath was leaking into our garage, we were trying to decide who to call to do the repair. The last plumber we had hired hadn't worked out very well, and ended up charging us quite a bit for some very minor work.
We had previously used Paul and Rex to remodel our basement, and we wondered if they would have any recommendations for us, or if they would possibly be able to help us out. When I called Paul, he mentioned that he wouldn't be able to get to it right away. However, since we had other places to shower and get ready (thanks to the previous remodel they did for us), we were ok with that. He had Rex come out at the beginning of the next week to take a look at it and see if he could do anything.
When Rex came out, he was able to quickly figure out that the drain pipe in the shower had come loose from the drain, and just needed to be reattached and sealed with silicone. He was able to get everything done that night, in about 20 minutes. He actually refused to charge us since the repair was so easy and didn't take any time. He mentioned that if it was still leaking after the silicone set, to give him a call and he would come back out.
We never had any problems again with the leak, and can't wait until we're ready for a kitchen remodel to give Paul and Rex a call (the basement is still our favorite part of our house)!

"I have a 3-story house, which needed 3 layers of roofing removed (including wood shake shingles) and a new roof installed. The roofers were very professional and made sure items around the house were protected or moved, so that nothing was damaged during the removal or installation. All debris was effectively cleaned up and removed after the job was completed. Although there was a production management change during the process, I was very satisfied with the end result."

FAQs for carpet repair, refasten, or stretch projects in Oak Grove, MO

Removing a rug costs around $0.40 to $0.50 per square foot. This includes the fee for a contractor to roll up the rug and haul it away in a vehicle for disposal or recycling. If they need to move furniture, they might charge an additional $0.25 to $0.30 per square foot of furniture.

If your carpet has minor damage—like a single area that requires stretching, patching, or cleaning—it might be less expensive to pay for carpet repair than remove and replace it. Repairing carpet costs around $210 per project.

The cost of carpet cleaning is about $190 for a three-bedroom home, so it’s a good idea to have your carpet cleaned at least once a year. But most carpeting only lasts 10 years. If your carpet is nearing the end of its life span, it might be more cost-effective to remove and replace your carpet than to clean and repair it. The average cost to install a new carpet is about $1,800.

Search our directory of carpet removal companies and services to find an affordable, screened contractor near you. All HomeAdvisor listings are vetted, reviewed, and rated by homeowners, so you can be sure to find a local pro qualified for your project. Get at least three quotes to compare prices and the timeline for your project.

Commercial carpet removal usually costs on the lower end of the carpet removal price range, around $1.10 per square foot or even less. Carpet installation contractors often offer discounted rates for larger projects, like commercial carpet removal and installation. Similarly, you might be able to negotiate a lower residential carpet removal cost if the carpet is pulled up throughout your entire home.

Most cities accept old carpets as bulk trash, but you may need to schedule a special pickup and prepare the carpet properly. Remove any nails or glue residue, cut the carpet into manageable pieces, and roll and secure them. Alternatively, you can take your old carpet to a local recycling center for a small fee, where it can be processed and repurposed.

Yes, you can remove carpet yourself if you're ready for a labor-intensive task. DIY carpet removal requires heavy lifting and tools like utility knives, pliers, and pry bars. The process is generally straightforward but time-consuming for stapled-down carpet. If your carpet is glued down or you're worried about damaging the subfloor, hiring a professional is best to ensure the job is done safely and efficiently.
