"Looking for a company to work with on some major and minor house renovations and repairs, I found Two by Four Construction through a special on Angie?s list.  I was contacted immediately and Gary came out to review my list of projects and discuss what could be completed and helped me develop a list of any other items needed for purchase before the renovations/repairs. Gary was incredibly helpful and positive and we set up a date for two weeks hence.
Two members of Gary?s team, Ralph and Bethany, arrived promptly at 7:30 as scheduled; we reviewed the work to be done and they immediately laid drop clothes to cover the rug and tile areas for traffic.  Their work style and manner were impeccable.
Bethany, Tile Lady Extraordinaire, discussed the project before starting and made sure she knew exactly what I wanted.  She was incredibly knowledgeable and had the best ideas to offer -- some of which we used in the project.  Bethany tiled and grouted my kitchen backslash and replaced the electrical plates, smoothed out a rough patch of drywall at the backsplash site, and replaced the kitchen blinds.  She was methodical and patient; her work was precise, neat and beautiful.  I couldn?t have asked for more. 
The handymen replaced numerous light fixtures and water faucets, installed a vent cover, and repaired a storm door frame which had not closed or locked properly for several years. 
I was so pleased with the completed projects, the standard of the work, as well as the professional demeanor of Two by Four Construction?s employees.  I will use them again in the future.

"This was definitely a 5 star operation from the initial discussions to the finishing touches! For a major renovation and upgrade to our master bathroom we reviewed potential contractors and their customer comments. VKB stood out. Our VKB designer Sean clearly has artistic talent and lots of design experience. He patiently worked with us, showing us 3D design options as we considered alternative configurations and materials. When we were satisfied with the design, Sean transitioned us smoothly to the build phase, introducing Jason as our project manager and Walter as our crew chief. Sean personally familiarized Jason with the project, inviting us to share our thoughts and any concerns. During the renovation, Walter and his crew would carefully isolate the MBR work from the rest of the house, sealing off the room and path to the front door with plastic barriers and floor coverings every morning and remove them every evening. Everyone was polite and sensitive to our living space. Jason was responsive to our wishes to refine several design aspects as the work proceeded, and Walter and his crew smoothly made the alterations. After the main construction was completed Jason remained very attentive to our ‘punch list’ of remaining details and our questions until all had been resolved. Walter ensured very high-quality work down to the finest detail. All the work from design to completion was well within the timeframe we had hoped. In the end, we have a beautiful MBR well beyond our original expectations!"

Nancy provided a documented estimate and breakdown cost of our project. Nancy & Ruben were amazing in attention scheduling, detailed work and professionalism throughout our renovation. His team, painted our ceiling, walls, door and wall border; drywalling to fix lightbox; then installed and corrected new lighting alignment to center with vanity and mirror; and toilet. "The best contractor we have had in 15 years of living here! Our 53yr old house is in the Fort Hunt / Waynewood area and we have had a lot of renovations done. Sam took care to ensure this project was done right. We had the main bathroom tub replaced, walls retiled and faucets installed. This was a 2nd update to our bathroom and we wanted to keep the tile floor and sink. Sam was able to install the new tub while protecting the floor tile not being replaced. All the work was done within the time & price promised and it looks great! We have/will recommend him to anyone needing quality home repairs done - at a very fair price. We wish we had found him for earlier projects and will absolutely hire him again!!"

"Devin Nasvaderani and his crew at Marvel Homes transformed a 1950s-era galley kitchen into an inviting and open kitchen/dining room. The project had many parts and space was limited, but it was finished on time and on budget thanks to the crew's competence, creativity and attention to detail. Devin managed to conceal a waste water pipe against a wall with some judicious cutting of a cabinet and tweaking of the tile back splash, he turned a living room closet on the other side of a kitchen wall into a pantry, and rerouted air vents that had  been inside the wall that separated the kitchen from the dining room. He worked with vendors including Cabinet Discounters, ABW appliances, Mosaic Tile and ABKA Marble & Granite to ensure the project stayed on track. And he dealt swiftly with glitches, replacing a dinged sink and a scratched drawer front.. A job well done."
