"My wife and I wanted new hard woods in our house but had very specific requirements that we could not typically find locally. My wife wanted a dark floor while I wanted extreme durability in a natural hard wood. We did our homework and decided that Brazilian Walnut (Ipe) most closely matched what we wanted.
After looking locally for something that fit the bill, the flooring we found was either over $12 sq/ft (too expensive) or not dark enough. I started searching on-line and ran across Brazilian Direct. Their prices seemed reasonable (a bit over $6 sq/ft for what we wanted) and they even had a tinted (dark) version of the floor we liked.
After several weeks of questions and further research, we decided to place an order. We we worked with a representative named Sannon who helped us every step of the way. She sent us samples, instructions, guides - everything to make us more comfortable about our eventual order. Our order came right on schedule and the wood was really beautiful. After several weeks of the required acclimation we had a local installer put the floor down. They did an excellent job and we really love our floor. There was very little waste and in fact we had at least 3 boxes left over.
I highly recommend Brazilian Direct. We are considering using them again for a deck project we'd like to do in the future.
"

"Trends Kitchen & Bathroom Specialists did an excellent job with our kitchen remodel. Damon and his crews were punctual, professional and personable. Greg and Brandi were superb at reworking our electrical system and installing our cabinets and hardware. Chris did an excellent job with our plumbing needs. And Gus and Tony did a wonderful job installing the backsplash. It was a pleasure having each of them in our home during the project. Damon did a great job keeping things flowing and following up on details. He also worked particularly well with the countertop company which resulted in a smooth work flow throughout the duration of the project. All in all, we are very happy with the results!"

"I have used several Granite Gold products and like their effectiveness because they do what they are supposed to do. No strong fumes or irritating skin problems. The granite counter top daily cleaner and polish are so easy to use (spay it on and wipe with a paper towel) to keep all your stone products clean and shiny. I was surprised to see how effective the grout cleaner is. I sprayed it on some dirty tire floors in the bathroom and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Then I went over it with the scrub brush they provide. It looked clean then, but when it dried, it was much brighter. This is a 40 Year old bathroom tile floor pictured. Granite Gold also provides excellent professional support."

"by David & Miyoko
Ethos Kitchen & Bath LLC epitomizes
Aristotle qualities of an ethical person - good sense, good moral
character and goodwill. Company founder David Gurwell
used these attributes in focusing on our needs in delivering a job well done and
at a very reasonable price. We were always first consulted before purchase of
materials regarding
best choices in price and quality. Our newly finished
tile bath is worthy of royalty and has, no doubt, greatly
enriched the value of our home. Both David and his Manager,
son Ben, demand quality of their "crafted artisans"
and each delivers. All were honest, reliable, polite, clean and thoughtful.
Thank you Angie's List! We highly recommend this
company - they'll be our first choice in any future renovation.
"

"They were very professional, helpful and responsive in answering questions and giving us a quote. In the end, we decided not to repair the countertop and sink but replace it entirely. as the previous owner installed it and it no longer fit our decor. Even though we didn't use them to make the repairs, we were very impressed with their customer service."

"
First visit to Carpet1, went in without an appointment to select kitchen tile for renovation. The Person who works with my contractor was busy with another customer. At home, I called Carpet1 to make an appointment with Person and was told that no appointment was needed, just come in anytime. I told telephone receptionist that I would be there at 10AM the next day. At 10AM, the 2nd time at Carpet1 to speak to Person, he was with another customer. Person told me that I should wait 20 - 30 minutes and he would be right with me. Went in next day without an appointment; Person at lunch. (Just so you know, I am not good at waiting. My time is just as valuable as yours and you aren't paying me to wait.) At home, I called Carpet1 to make an appointment; was told no appointment was necessary; explained to the telephone person that an appointment was necessary and could I talk to Person; was told Person was away from store. Went to Carpet1 a few days later on 4th visit, Person was not there. Went to CarpetPlus, but my contractor told me I really needed to use Carpet1. Called Carpet1 yet again; told them that I didn't want to work with Person and needed a different Person; made an appointment to meet with Different Person, who turned out to be very helpful and informative. Selected floor tile, backsplash tile and grout from Different Person, but had to go through original Person to actually make sale. (?? Why, when he hadn't been helpful or responsive??)

So, now tile is delivered. When it came time to install backsplash tile, it turns out that not enough was delivered. Person told me that I hadn't wanted a certain area of kitchen with backsplash. I am pretty sure that I told him I did want backsplash there, but O well, had to order more backsplash tile which is only delivered on Wednesdays. So next the Wednesday was Christmas Day and the following Wednesday was New Year's Day. So my little area was not completed for 2 weeks after the rest of my kitchen was completed. Turns out, not enough additional tile for small area was ordered. Fortunately instead of waiting for yet another Wednesday delivery, tile man suggested an acceptable alternative, so this kitchen renovation which started December 2, was finally completed January 7.

At end of project, we ended up with 2 unopened, complete packages of floor tile which Carpet1 refused to allow me to return to them for credit.

Next issue is that grout on kitchen floor tile has already darkened from "Linen" to a dingy brown. In order to clean, I am on my knees scrubbing with baking soda and tooth brush. At mid-60s, my knees are sore and difficult to get up and down to scrub grout. One of the things we told Person and Different Person was that I did not want grout to turn dark. We were home 4 weeks after kitchen floor tile laid, then in Texas for 6 weeks. This dirty dingy grout does not bode well for future maintenance. I called Carpet1 Different Person for advice on how to keep my kitchen grout clean, and prevent discoloration in future. No phone call returned. Called again; called again. Finally texted her picture of discolored floor tile. Spoke to her once about my issue. That was 1 week ago today and I have received no further information from her. So now, I guess I'll go to Lowes or some big box store to see if they will help me.

Even if I use the same contractor for next renovation, I will not use Carpet1 for any tile needs.

"
