"<p>In Feb 2014, I contacted Alternative Surfaces to do a quote for my garage floor.  Evan arrived promptly and explained the process and costs.  He then quickly responded via email with a quote.  I didn't leverage him at that time as I wasn't prepared to move forward.  </p> <p>I contacted Evan again at the beginning of October to re-engage in the process.  He remembered my quote and quickly resupplied it.  We planned for a date the work was completed.  I left a way to get access to the garage as I was out on the day of service.  Unfortunately my garage opener didn't work.  The team took the opener to the hardware store to purchase new batteries and dried it out.  It still didn't work, so they were unable to get into my garage.  I thought this was already above and beyond to go try to fix the opener.  </p> <p>When I called Evan, he understood my desire to have the work completed quickly and adjusted schedules so that the team could come back just a few days later.  It was unbelievable that they made this adjustment.  The team came 10/31 and got right down to work.  They were extremely professional and finished the job early.  </p> <p>I love my new garage floor and I'm only upset with myself for not having this done when I first met Alternative Surfaces back in February 2014.  I know that this will make a huge difference in keeping my garage and ultimately my house cleaner during the Portland winter.  </p> <br />"

"A miracle worker!!  I was so pleased to find someone who can act as a "big brother" or "spare hubby" to help with some of the honey-do lists that pile up.  He was fast, efficient and didn't charge much.  I just paid extra as it was worth it to me.  I plan on using him many times in the future with furniture and other odd jobs that need to be accomplished with a large house and property.  You won't go wrong using his services!!!"

"Arrived at the appointed time. He reviewed the area to be cleaned and shampooed; upstairs and the main floor. He proceeded to vacuum the areas to remove the dog fur and other loose material. Removed two and quot;bags-fulland quot; of dirt/fur from the carpeting. He then tool his time to deep clean. Spent additional time with the most soiled spots. Removed the majority of the spots. Only those that had been there for years couldn't be removed (coffee, red wine stains). He also cleaned an oriental rug. <br /> Overall, very satisfied. He brought back the original color and texture of the carpeting. Purchased both stain-remover and pet stain remover from him to supplement my weekly vacuuming and occasional pet accident. <br />"

We want all 5's on our customer surveys and want to make sure you know that before we start. \nWhen it comes to drying a water damage, we can get it dry in 1 or 2 days where all of our competition takes 3 days to 2 weeks.\nWhere dreams are restored!

"I had specifically ask that I be home when the work was preformed. <br /> This did not happen.  I arrived home to find some the work had already been done.   <br /> The service man was sitting in his truck in my driveway.  Since this was not as I had requested I asked him to <br /> take a garden hose, spray that section of the roof to see for myself if that particular "fix" had in fact been completed. <br /> It appeared that he had done that. <br />  I asked him about the condition of the rest of the roof, because I will be selling my property in the future and wanted <br /> to be aware of any problems.    I was especially wanting a written report so I could show it to prospective buyers. <br /> I was NOT provided with any pictures or was I given a written report. <br />  Part of the package was for him to "check for interior leaks that may not be noticeable from the exterior of your home." <br /> THIS WAS NOT DONE. <br /> Because of the unfinished portion of the contract, I called LMJ Contracting on 11/4/2014 twice, leaving a message. <br /> I received a call back from "Howard". He said "Wayne" did the work and that he would talk to him and call me back. <br /> At that time Howard apologized for the "miscommunication" .  I did not hear back from him.  Because of a death of a friend I didn't call back until Nov. 17 and asked Howard when he would be coming back to finish the inspection, etc.  We scheduled 11/20, but he called and asked to reschedule.  Said he would call me on Nov. 24. <br /> This has been a very unsatisfactory situation with a contractor that was recommended by Angie's list.  Since I am a new member, I am now somewhat disappointed with something I thought would end well.  I'm a 71 year old widow, and have to rely on others for the repair of my home. <br /> I still have hope that Howard will complete what I paid for. <br />"
