"Butler and Associates Construction did a wonderful job on our new driveway. They tore out the old cracked driveway and replaced it with a new smooth and solid surface for our family to enjoy. They were efficient, professional and treated our property with respect leaving a clean worksite each day. We get compliments on our new driveway almost every day from neighbors walking past. Can’t recommend Jonathan and his crew enough!"

"Punctual, professional and proactive are the words that describe Creative Gardening best! Being a first time homeowner, I had quite the challenge ahead of me as I tried to redo my front yard and move on from the design provided by the builder during my home purchase. I contacted Creative Gardening for a quote and was promptly responded to by Doris. Bob came out and reviewed the work I wanted to get done and provided quite a few valuable suggestions (Being a dog dad of two Great Pyrenees puppies, I tend to have unusual problems and I was impressed with Bob's creative solutions). The quote arrived soon and the installation was scheduled promptly. Bob, Dustin and John all showed up on time, worked hard all day and did top quality work. My yard has now become the envy of the neighborhood with multiple folks stopping by to request information on the landscaper. I truly appreciate the passion and dedication with which the work was finished and would definitely use them for any future landscaping project."

"Excellent work done on our paver patio with three short sitting walls installed on the perimeter of the patio. While some precautions were used to prevent the grass from getting torn up, it wasn't done everywhere and I'm still trying to fix all the undulations that resulted. More importantly, they had the most reasonable quote."

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in Owens Cross Roads, AL

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
