"We got estimates from 3 companies & only Scott did we talk to in person. He explained everything & is very knowledgeable. He went the extra mile to seal our drive. Preparation was great, sealed with a squeeze as I requested. Returned every email promptly & a nice person to work with. I definitely rcommend"

"When Jimmie visited me to go over the proposal, he gave me his word that he would take good care of me.  And, that's exactly what he did.   A dishwasher was installed incorrectly and did so much damage to my home.  I had to deal with the installer's insurance company so it seemed like forever before it was done.  Jimmie' team (plumber, drywall, hardwood floor, cabinet removal/replacement, cleanup) were on time, very friendly and provided awesome work. <br /> While the entire process was stressful, J&R Construction turned it around for me.  My home is put back together and the hardwood floor is beautiful. <br /> I will use this company again when the needed arises. <br />"

"MR. GRABER IS THE KIND OF BUSINESSMAN I WISH ALL BUSINESSMEN WOULD EMULATE. HE IS ON TIME, COMMUNICATES WELL, KEEPS IN CONTACT VIA PHONE MESSAGES, RETURNS CALLS IN A TIMELY MANNER, AND PROVIDES AN EXCELLENT SERVICE IN A TIMELY MANNER. DAY ONE - MR. GRABER ARRIVES ON TIME AND WE WALK THROUGH THE HOUSE, DISCUSSING WHAT IS NEEDED. HE ALSO PROVIDES HELPFUL INFORMATION. DAY TWO-FOUR -THE TEAM ARRIVES, ASSESSES THE SITUATION, COMES PREPARED AND QUICKLY GOES TO WORK, WRAPPING NECESSARY WINDOWS, DOORS, ETC...THE SPRAYING BEGINS, THE EXCESS IS TRIMMED, AND EVENTUALLY, ALL CARRIED AWAY BY THE COMPANY. HIS WORK CREW WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL, DID AN EXCELLENT JOB OF COVERING THE CEILING, WALLS, BANDBOARDS, AND I COULD TELL THEY ENJOYED THEIR WORK. THEY KEPT THE WORKSITE CLEAN AS WELL. I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND GRABER INSEALATOR TO ANYONE. IF WE BUILD AGAIN, WE'LL ONLY BEING CALLING HERSHEL GRABER FOR OUR INSULATION - HANDS DOWN."

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Owensboro, KY

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
