Give him a call today to make sure that all of your home based construction needs are taken care of the right way!

"Tom was hired for a large job. Whenever he got another job mine was put on the back burner. What should have been two months at the most took over nine and he did not complete it. He over charged for the hours he put in. Several time I went to the site and he had already left for the day but still charged without putting in the hours he charged for. Hired incompetent help which increased his hourly rate. Tom did not provide workman's comp insurance for the employees he hired. He refused to provide license and insurance information. Spent half of his time outside smoking. He was to build an addition and finish out an interior. The roof leaks in the addition he put up. The insulation he used throughout has an R rating of 1. I had already purchased insulation but he didn't want to use it. The heat radiates through the ceiling due to being improperly insulated. He put up underpinning that wicked water up and into the house whenever it rained. I told him it was wicking, but he continued to caulk it at my expense before finally removing it after several attempts to stop the leaks. There is still an area around a cat door that he installed that still leaks. He built a porch and made it flush to the doorway. There is nowhere for water to drain without coming inside. Storm door was not installed correctly. It won't close or latch. Nail pops in the floor. I told him I wanted the floor insulated with bubble foil before the subfloor was installed. He didn't understand that concept. He did put pink insulation under one area of the floor with no protection. It is all coming loose. His tile work is terrible. He left tiles uneven and then tried to blame me for walking on them. I wasn't even in the state when he did this. When the tile was pulled up to fix, turns out, he didn't even have it set with mortar. He over cut tiles and chipped them. He broke personal items of mine and didn't replace them. He left a mess with everything he did. I would come in and spend one to two hours daily cleaning up after him. It took me two days to clean up the mortar he slopped everywhere. Walls he put up are not square. He was supposed to frame in an area for a cabinet that I told him was 15 wide. It was actually "14.75". He did not allow for the baseboard, so now the cabinet cannot be used. I do have photos of all of this and more. On a side note, he was told not to let the animals out. Due to his negligence, one of my cats is now dead because he let her out. On more than one occasion, I had to crawl under the house to get a cat, one that was being treated for cancer. Beware of the false reviews, several of them are from his friends."

We are committed to our customers, providing exceptional products at an unbeatable price with service at the top of the list. Our products are EPA Lead-Safe certified and our windows are Energy Star certified and are backed by the Good Housekeeping Seal. Additional DBAs - Window World of St Louis & Window World Inc. Locally owned & operated by Jon Gillette & Jim Lomax.

"Never written a review in my life, but felt I should warn others of my experience. The salesman told us that they schedule when all products have come in. We made our appointment and got a call a week later that our sliding door wasn't in. We decided to keep our appointment for the windows. SInce we were painting our house I had asked the salesman if it was ok to paint near the windows or if there would be damage and I should wait. He said the crew would do some things with the install that it would be fine to paint. Well our windows have been installed and about half the windows took minor to significant damage. Our hardwood floor received a knick in it as did our granite countertop. When calling to follow up, I had to call again because I never received a call. The appointment wasn't kept the first time and then I had to reschedule again. I learned at this meeting that it is up to me, or you the customer, to seek bids in getting the damage repaired as the installers are contracted out; not Window World employees. A month later our sliding door is in and supposed to be installed today. I got a call 30 minutes after potential arrival time that that won't be happening today. Please understand this is a quick snapshot of my experience; there is certainly more to all of this and sorry I did not include pictures of the damage. Our windows were installed and they all had this gunk on it. As customers, I think you expect something new to look new. Anyone replace a floor, cabinets, or anything else in their home thinking you'll have to repair additional damage done? I sure didn't. When I called and asked to speak to a manager about all of this I was told a message would be passed on. A month later, I have yet to receive that call. In conclusion, I would avoid Window World. The customer care of providing a new, clean product that is well installed, home cared for, attention to fix issues, or that you'll take off work to be present for install doesn't seem to matter. Save yourself and your home the hassle and headache; find another company."

Interior trim and decorative moldings installations FAQs

Yes, you can install trim on a crooked wall, which is a common issue in older homes. Professionals have the skills to adjust trim to uneven surfaces, ensuring a seamless look. However, installing trim on a crooked wall requires additional time and expertise, which may increase your labor and finishing costs.

Trim covers every finishing element used around doors and windows and where walls meet floors or ceilings. Molding is a decorative subset of trim designed to enhance a space's aesthetic. In addition, trim includes elements such as baseboards, door casings, and floor transitions, while molding focuses exclusively on ornamental details. All molding is part of trim, but not all trim qualifies as molding.

The time it takes to trim a house depends on the project's size and complexity. Finish carpenters install trim at a rate of about 20 linear feet per hour. Therefore, trimming a house that requires 125 linear feet of trim would take around 6.25 hours. However, factors such as intricate trim designs, the number of rooms, and any custom work can extend the installation time significantly.
