They dropped off the equipment one day before the project even though it had snowed the night before. He knew exactly how to deal with the insurance companies and always had the correct forms on hand that would need to be submitted. He looked for ways to save on using our insurance funds and came in below the estimate. He made sure to give us better quality shingles than what was installed before. When our roof in the neighborhood seemed to be on the border for being replaced, he made sure to advocate for us. It turned out the insurance company did not disagree.

I was told by a different contractor who fixed some gutters, that I needed to have someone who knew how to fix flat roofs inspect my flat porch roof. After asking around, several people highly recommended contacting William Mackay. Brittany quickly scheduled for a technician to come out -- and the same day Mr. Mackay inspected my roof and emailed me the proposal. He answered all my questions (as did Brittany!) The work was scheduled quickly - and the installers/technicians completed the work in one day. Everything was cleaned up (old roof pieces, etc) afterwards. "I bought an Angie's List Big Deal certificate for Fairfax Roofing Solutions after I had water leaking from a light switch box during a heavy rain storm. I called Chris Wallace the owner, first thing in the morning to schedule the inspection and repair. He was very flexible and was able to be out at my house 3 hrs later. They showed up, inspected the roof and made several repairs. I really appreciated how quickly they were able to fit me in. We had more bad weather forecasted and a potential hurricane coming through in a few days and they were able to schedule me and make the repairs immediately. I would definitely recommend them to others in the area.

"We had been having leaking in our ceiling near our chimney for almost a year, despite having had our roof and gutters and having our chimney flashing redone last year. After a number of frustrating follow-ups with our original roofer and chimney repair company, we called S&K, which came highly recommended on our community page. Sean came out within two weeks despite a very busy rainy season. He checked our roof and told us quite honestly that the problem was not the roof or even the flashing, which had been done well but the porousness of our older bricks. He applied some silicone sealant right then and told us to call him again if it didn't work after the heavy rains this weekend; he also mentioned we should just keep periodically reapplying this sealant ourselves. This leak has stressed us out for months and Sean was extremely honest and helpful. He didn't try to sell us any expensive repairs but was upfront about the problem. The level of professionalism, knowledge and service exhibited by Sean and everyone we spoke with is so rare nowadays; we can't recommend him or S&K highly enough."
