"My experience with Shamrock Chimney was extremely disappointing. They canceled the first two appointments, one just 30 minutes before the arrival window. When they finally showed up, neither technician had branded apparel or business cards, which immediately made me uneasy. I explained that our fireplace shuts off randomly. The technician said there was a $500 diagnostic fee, but no charge if he couldn?t get it running. His ?diagnostics? were guessing it might be a bird?s nest (it wasn?t) and blowing into the pilot area. No proper tools were used. He left at 3:40 pm and returned at 4:09 pm. While writing the invoice, the fireplace shut off again. He then guessed it was the thermostat and quoted $1,200, saying the $500 would apply. There was no confirmation this was the issue. I later found the thermostat online for $86. The invoice states ?could not get it running,? yet I was still charged $500. Customer service showed no concern. Overall, unprofessional, overpriced, do not recommend."
