"Excellent! Our entire HVAC unit and air handling system have been problematic since we purchased our new construction home three years ago (that's another story!). Last night our HVAC unit fan stopped working. Called the company that installed the system after hours and had to leave a message. The next morning we finally heard from the company and they said they would try to get with us sometime today. That's when I decided to find a higher quality heating and air conditioning company. I'm glad we chose A-Best Air & Heat. From the first phone call, I was greeted promptly, professionally, and very courteously. After explaining the situation, the company representative would arrive sometime between 10:00 am and 12 pm (we called at approximately 8:30 am). At 10:30, Sam arrived, the Technician from the company. Very professional, and showed up wearing a face mask (smart touch during these times). He went to work right away on the HVAC unit and within a few minutes identified the source of the problem as being a power capacitor. Soon after Sam had our HVAC unit running again, and we had cool A/C! Another thing Sam did was listen to our story about the problem with the system installed in our then brand new home. Quite often we could go to bed at, say, 10 pm, with the inside of our house nice and cool, but then be woken in the middle of the night, having to kick off the covers because the A/C was no longer cooling. We have had the builder's HVAC subcontractor out to our house easily 10 times in these past two years. Again, the same problem would come up and was never adequately resolved. Sam did some troubleshooting, made some adjustments, then made some recommendations to us. I think we may well be on our way to resolving an issue that took another well known company 10 tries to fix, but no cigar yet. Highly recommended company!"

"Awesome work! Dave and his assistant Tyler went above and beyond to rescue a "flushed" piece of irreplaceable family heirloom jewelry when a number of others told me not to bother. They never gave up in the face of adversity and were successful in retrieving the ring. Prices were fair, but in all fairness I didn't ask for a quote in advance, I just told them to please get the ring back. They even cleaned up the job site to better than it was when they got there. Customer for life here."

"This is the first online review I've ever written -- my experience with this company was that bad. Three aspects that deserve attention: 1) I placed an order and tried to cancel six minutes later. Turns out they don't accept cancellations. 2) I couldn't find a phone number, so I had to work the return/refund by email. The exchange was painful -- so unhelpful I felt like I was interacting with a bad chatbot. 3) I ended up eating shipping costs (expected) and got hit for a 50% restocking fee (unexpected) because I refused the package instead of paying to ship it back. Didn't matter that it went to the correct address, was clearly labeled, and had prior return authorization. So I ended up with a $21 refund on a $60 order, and a lesson learned about where not to buy appliance parts."

"TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT! The techs repair failed soon after he left. I called the company and was told I had to wait almost a week for them to revisit the appliance. Management refused to help -- you would think they would be helpful -- so I asked for my money back. BOTH the diagnosis and repair had failed and I would have to start over. This was refused as well. So I had no choice but to cancel payment and move on. SAD. This manager needs training."

"Repair Clinic sent me a water intake valve that had some scuff marks and an unnecessary fixture (which I thought nothing of, assuming it had been removed from a new dishwasher). When the part did not fix my dishwasher's issue, I ordered a circulation pump, which also failed to fix the issue, so I decided to return both parts. Repair Clinic blamed me for the scuff marks and extra fixture, which is unacceptable. They referenced their return policy which states that parts which have been installed cannot be returned, and denied me any form of refund. For all I know, the water intake valve was defective, and I have no recourse. Don't put any stock in the "No-Hassle 365-Day Returns" they proudly tout on their homepage. Instead, expect finger-pointing and uncaring dismissal. You are better off with one of their many competitors."

"After a friend recommended Weather Engineers to replace my failing AC system, I read the customer reviews – and was skeptical in seeing a family-owned HVAC company garnered several hundred 5-star reviews. After hiring this company, I see that they have earned each one. Owner Nathan took his time to answer all of my questions, sent us background material, and gave me a great price on the unit I wanted (we had already gotten other estimates)…and an appointment for the next day, even though my current AC likely had a few more days of sputtering life. Installer Matt was professional, courteous, exacting, and worked harder than a Type A beaver. Plus he cleaned every speck of debris and took all trash. Nathan then followed with phonecalls to ensure the job was done to our satisfaction. This was my first time dealing with Weather Engineers, but it won’t be my last. Excellent work. Great customer experience. Highly recommended!"

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Palm Bay, FL

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
