"Very punctual, installers were great.  Can't see any seams!  The carpet is beautiful!  Criticisms: 1.  The salesperson never followed up with my quote and I had to call to find out the status; 2.  They measured incorrectly when they came to do the estimate so the installers didn't have enough carpet to do the job when they originally came.  They had to order more carpet and then come out a second time to finish the job.  3. They forgot to call me to tell me the additional carpet was in and to schedule the install. <br />"

"We chose wide plank, 10mm thick, "handscraped", top of the line laminate and it was worth it. Prianti's had many types of flooring and grades to choose from. Prianti's is a privately owned, local company and they take pride in their products & services. All our heavy furniture was moved by the installers and replaced after the floors were completed. The installation team really knew what they were doing and worked together well. The job was finished in record time. We would definitely use again. Beautiful job. We had checked with other homeowners in our community and received mixed reviews re: other flooring companies. We give Prianti's A++."

"It went very well. They were very understanding about the date of installation (we had ongoing construction and had to delay the installation for several months). They arrived on time and installed the carpet well in a minimum time period. <br />"

"Contacted Floor Specialists of Martin County on their website, indicating our desire to purchase hardwood flooring for several areas of our home, as well as laminate flooring for our guest bedroom. I received a response within minutes directly from the owner, Jerry. He indicated that he was unavailable due to an injury, but referred us to Vicki and Neal. At the store, we were greeted by both. We were purchasing hardwood flooring for the first time and had done quite a bit of research. We were pleased to see that they offered all of the most desirable brands. They were very patient and took their time with us, allowing us to take several samples home, not just once, but twice. They understand that flooring is not changed often, and they want you to be certain that you are getting exactly what you want. Once the product we wanted was determined, an appointment was made to have exact measurements taken. The person taking measurements was prompt, and took care of everything quickly. Once the materials were ordered, but prior to installation, Neal came out to our home to assure that the measurements were precise. We were in the process of having other work done at our home, and were expecting delivery of our guest bedroom furniture. Vicki arranged for us to have the flooring delivered and installed prior to the delivery which was appreciated. The installers were on time and worked quickly. Although that room was empty, they helped move a few items in the closets to finish the work. They left everything neat and clean. We were so impressed that we were thrilled to see them return to install the hardwood flooring in the living area and stairways. We were told to allow 5 days for the installation which requires precision, particularly on the stairs. They worked so efficiently, they finished in 4 days. Again, they cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day and did incredible work. They moved all furniture as needed, and Jerry even provided felt pads to have the installers put on furniture legs before replacing. Vicki and Jerry stayed in touch through the entire process to make sure things were going smoothly. Before leaving, the installers left us with hardwood flooring cleaner and a soft mop provided by Jerry so the flooring could be cared for properly. If you are considering wood flooring I recommend you start with Floor Specialists of Martin County. We were extremely pleased!"

"The unit is fully furnished and the installers took care of everything completing the job in 6 working days which included demo, prep work and sub-flooring (cork). The tile work is truly professional as evidenced by the layout and looks beautiful! The job also involved a second sub-contractor to install new baseboard. They were in and out in half a day and also did a beautiful job dealing with existing imperfections and going the extra mile to ensure that everything is aesthetically correct."

"Everything went exactly as advertised - he was in, explained what he would do, and finished on schedule. My only complaint was that he said the carpet would be dry in about two hours. As it turned out, took almost six hours to be dry enough to walk on. <br />"

"I visited the showroom on two occasions until I decided on the tile I wanted. I was allowed to take a sample home to see how it would loo in my house. The showroom staff was very helpful and knowledgeable and were the upmost professionals in answering all of my questions. The gentleman who came for the estimate was prompt and answered all of our questions and was also a delight. Every dealing with the office and installers was prompt and courteous. The installers were the upmost professionals who completed a perfect and wonderful job! I could not have asked for anything better. They arrived daily at the stated time and worked diligently until completion. My floors are perfect! Care was taken to ensure that I was satisfied and I am beyond happy with the results. I highly recommend Jay's Floors & More."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Palm City, FL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
