"Absolutely awesome company. I have used them multiple times. I request the same tech. He is so great, and can explain things in layman terms to me. This time I bought the incorrect outdoor light, he went and got one. Its not cheap for a visit, but their are the best to hire!"

"Ben was very professional and did a great job. Price was comparable to what I expected for the job. I quoted with two other companies that were more than double. I would definitely use gleam again."

"They responded immediately for my request for a quote, were at my house the next day (others never returned my call or called back 3 weeks later). <br /> They gave me a quote and an approximate time they could start.  They were able to start earlier than anticipated..  They arranged for the utility services to be marked and for an electrician so I only needed to work with Allen Irrigation for the whole job. <br /> They completed the installation quickly.  Were responsive when I asked for a couple of adjustments and additions and kept to their stated pricing.  <br /> I love the effect the landscape lighting has on my yard and no longer having to play hose jockey! <br />"

"No matter what we have them out for they always do a great job.  About five years ago we had them out to look at a white pine that we thought needed to be removed.  They said they might be able to save the tree.  What ever they did worked because the tree is thriving now. There was a scraggly bush in one of our beds and I told them that my husband would take it out for them. They removed it for us and didn't charge for it.  I am extremely pleased with their work and the designer is great too.  Robin Jones was the landscape designer and she worked closely with us in designing the landscape.  We told her exactly what we wanted and she did an amazing job of drawing it up."

"This is one of those rare quality companies that you come across which make you say, where have <em>they</em> been all this time?! As newer pool owners, repeated bad experiences with two local pool companies led us to Underwater Unlimited. The advice that we were given (at no charge) was exactly what was needed to correct the problems that our previous pool company not only created, but was unable to address. <br /> <br /> Instead of telling us that the sky was falling and that we needed thousands of dollars in chemicals and service, Underwater Unlimited gave us simple instructions which absolutely worked and didn't cost us a dime. Their advice did not include expensive chemicals or trucked-in pool water - it was easy to follow and cost us nothing. It was absolutely the correct (and honest) solution to our problem.  <br /> <br /> We are now customers of Underwater Unlimited and we will absolutely use them for all of our pool and spa needs, including chemicals and service. We are looking forward to working with Underwater Unlimited and we highly recommend them to pool and spa owners. They are terrific to deal with and they make owning a pool easy and fun, which is what it is supposed to be!"

FAQs for holiday lighting add or remove projects in Paragon, IN

If climbing ladders or handling wiring isn’t in your comfort zone, hire a pro. Look for installers who post clear per-foot or hourly rates, carry insurance, and have solid reviews. Comparing at least three quotes helps you spot fair pricing without sacrificing safety. Skipping credentials to save a few dollars can cost you far more in repairs, so pick a qualified team and enjoy a safe, eye-catching display.

Yes, booking between February and September often scores lower rates because demand is light and pros have open calendars. You might even negotiate a discount package that includes removal or storage. If the budget is tight, ask whether a handyperson or an off-season permanent-light install makes sense for your home and timeline.

Determining the number of holiday lights for your house depends on your home’s size and specific decorative vision. Your project requires 10 to 20 light strands for a basic exterior display, with 100 lights allocated for eaves and an additional 10 to 20 bulbs for each awning.

For trees and substantial shrubs, allocate five to 10 strands per unit to achieve complete and balanced illumination across your property.

Tipping isn’t mandatory, but it’s a nice way to thank your installer for a job well done. Most homeowners offer 10% to 20% of the total bill or round up to an even figure if the crew exceeds expectations. A small extra goes a long way toward showing appreciation—and may help you snag priority booking next season.

Yes, you can install holiday lights yourself if your property layout is straightforward and your electrical system is secure. Homeowners who are confident in their ability to safely handle wiring and use proper equipment can save money with a DIY approach.

However, it is crucial to test all outlets thoroughly and secure the proper ladders and safety gear before starting. Careful planning and adherence to safety guidelines are essential to protect yourself and your home while achieving an attractive display.

Start by clearing the area of loose debris, damaged shingles, and anything that could trip you up. Test outdoor outlets and, if you’re unsure, bring in an electrician. Use a sturdy extension ladder (or scaffolding for very high spots) and never work alone—having a helper steady the ladder is non-negotiable. Taking these simple steps keeps you, your roof, and your new lights safe.
