"olshan thought I didn't need more than minor repairs that would be more expensive if I used them. I appreciated that."

"They had several carbon fiber strips that they were putting in and I liked the appearance of that much better because it just blended right up with the wall. That was our choice if we went through and then we did call them back and said that give us an estimate on something a little less expensive, but we didn’t hear back from them."

"The Olshan sales person / inspector / estimator was great. Very honest, open and real. He communicated every step with us right up until the actual crew arrived.
The work crew arrived on time and began work. It was misting, so it got a little slushy. It was difficult to communicate with the crew because all but one person spoke spanish exclusively (or so they said). One person spoke broken english, so we were able to communicate what we wanted with the addition of animation. We had several problems with the crews 'finishing touches'.
First, they had to come back 2 times to redo the patch in the driveway where they broke through the concreted to put the supports. The third patch was crap, so I gave up. Evidently they don't know how to patch concrete. When we emailed our Olshan contact each time, he never contacted us, he just forwarded the email to the broken english speaking foreman. When I called the foreman asking when he would come back and fix the concrete, he said "your email said you were going to use someone else to fix it". "No", I said "My email said I 'wish' I had used someone else to do the job". AUGH! Communication, bad.
Second, Before the job started they asked if they could remove the top layer of decking (2X4s) on our small deck that we use to hold our cit trash cans, so as to get to the corner. We agreed. When they re-layed the decking, they did not space them anywhere near like they were, boards were crooked & misaligned, and I couldn't fix it because they had changed out the screws and used a different screw that was not phillips head, therefore I couldn't fix it. I had to call them back to fix it. Additionally, when they dug under the slab, they put in the supports, but didn't fill the soil back in tightly - therefore, our small deck that holds our city trash cans began to cave in toward the house.
The dirt continued to cave in and fill the void under the slab - the deck dropped a foot on one side (and it's only 3 feet wide). As we began taking off the top layer of decking so we could rebuild it, we found they had wedged a concrete cylinder under the side of the decking against the house, so they obviously knew that was going to be a problem. Needless to say, it's been redone by us. I'm not interested in calling them back.
My disappointment is that the previous reviews said they were wonderful and even put things back better than they were before they started the job. Not at my house. They even hooked up a microwave in our garage and tromped huge clay chunks into the garage while going in and out. No offer to clean up their nasty mess.
My suggestion to Olshan is that they screen their subcontractors better, or send out satisfaction surveys after a job is done so they can keep a better handle on the quality of their subcontractors. This would also help their scoring here on Angies List.
I have no comment yet on the quality of the actual leveling of the house, I'm sure it will be fine and if not, we have a warranty that will stay with the house and is transferable. Additionally, after they hooked up all of the supports, an english speaking supervisor showed up on the scene and meticulously jacked the house up to where it needed to be with his equipment. I do have confidence that the house will stay put. It's just had empty voids under it that are filling in as time wears on, and I'm sure will fill in completely, eventually. sigh.
Happy to be level, disappointed in the crew.

"
