"Edamarie was very knowledgeable and professional in her advice regarding the correction of these problems. She incorporated much of the correctly done work by that company in her planning. She also maintained the “natural feel” we had established in the previous landscaping work. Backyard Bounty’s Stonemason was also extremely professional and helpful in giving us advice. The quality of his team’s work and of his craftsmanship were extremely high. In addition, Edamarie worked with us in using environmentally sound erosion control solutions on a steep slope beside our driveway in addition to the steep Backyard beds with the same issues. These included firstly the use of various native plants and natural rocks in the beds. Then secondly, the construction of a large and long, beautiful natural stone retaining wall, which gently graduated downwards in height to match the the height of the bank behind it and the slope of the driveway. We were so pleased with the results, that we asked Backyard Bounty to return in 2014 in order to construct two further natural stone walls, re-construct parts of a dry rock wall and to create a long, meandering river stone swale leading all the way down one side of our home from the slope in our back yard, to a dry well (invisible to the eye), in the front yard. This not only solved drainage problems but was aesthetically beautiful. This work was all kept within our budget and made even more cost-effective by BB preserving the best of the previous company’s work and re-utilizing the materials from the work that had to be re-designed."

"We could not be happier with the job Stoneman Construction and Landscaping did for us and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to install a patio, retaining wall, brick walkways, or brick stairs. Let us start by saying that we are very particular people and we are SO pleased with the work Stoneman has done for us. And to make it even more exciting, we did not know exactly what we wanted when requesting for quotes. In general, we wanted brick walkways connecting our front door to the sidewalk and to our driveway, a planter box in our front yard, and a patio in our side and back yards. But as far as design - we were at a loss. Alberto, Evelyn, and their team took our limited knowledge and easily filled in the gaps. The mid-range of three quotes we got, Stoneman's Alberto and Evelyn put us immediately at ease. He had a catalogue handy for us to see the types of pavers he recommended. As we did more research, we sent photos of a herringbone brick pattern for the walkways, patio/retaining wall styles, and timber boxes to finalize our contract. Evelyn always responded very quickly to our emails. Alberto gave us plenty of notice that we would need to wait about a month or so to get started. When it was time to begin construction, Alberto showed up with our photos in hand, and the Stoneman team was efficient and professional. It was a huge project with lots of moving pieces and they finished 95% of it in 5 days. At one point we didn't love the width of a step and asked for it to be widened. The widened step was done within a couple of hours and looks perfect. We had a few punch list items for them to come back and take care of, which they did timely with no need for followup. After we'd done the final walkthrough, told them how much we'd love it, and paid the final installment, we noticed a small gap after some dirt had settled. Alberto came back himself to make it right. Simply put, Stoneman delivered above and beyond what we expected. Alberto and his team patiently worked with our requests within reason. "Fine-- I should have looked at pictures of what they were going to plant before agreeing to the work-- we spent a lot of money and it wasn't the plant I meant. They also came on a day we weren't home, and had I been home, I would have caught that and saved us money. We've had to redo the area again six years later because it wasn't what we wanted or needed. They did also put in a French drain which mostly solved a drainage problem, but not completely."

"Mairtin is a Stone artist. The job was to reface a brick fireplace with stone veneer and install an owner provided reclaimed wood mantel. Before choosing Mairtin, I interviewed a number of other local area Masons. What impressed me about Mairtin was his knowledge of masonry, his creative ideas for making the best out of the stone veneer, and his low pressure sales tactics. He was very professional and provided a proposal that was well within our budgeted plan.
