"Couldn't afford to pay for an AC system, and labor, so I contacted Tom Martin of MMG and he was kind enough to send 5 star rated Senior HVAC Technician Dennis Canterbury out to tell me everything needed to have a fully functional AC system, allow me to purchase my own parts and do my own labor and then have them come back out and hook it up. Now that's top notch service!!!! 5 out of 5? More like 10 out of 10!!! I'll quote you this "If you're in need of HVAC, plumbing or electrical services, residential or commercial, from a company you can trust to go out of their way to make sure that you're sitting pretty in hard times. THEN YOU NEED MMG.""

"The installers were on time. However, one of them appeared to be in training (and made several comments which reflected a lack of sufficient training). In order to find installation instructions, I had to do more research on the specific brand of water softener than I expected to, which wasn't a significant problem). The installation process itself appeared to be smooth and timely The cost was slightly higher than I was lead to believe (even after factoring in the cost of the additional supplies that proved to be necessary) So far, we have experienced no known problems with the installation or the performance of the water softener."

"It went okay. The old water heater was disconnected and drained quickly. We waited on the other gentleman to purchase the water heater and return. At completion of the work, we were given a bill that included everything but was not itemized. I think we were "stiffed" on parts as we knew the water heater price as we had noted it was one of our candidates. The labor was skewed, in my opinion, as we paid a plumber to go shopping. Had we known this was their strategy, we would have purchased it ourselves and had it ready for them. On the plus side, they did the work on a Saturday."

"Our church building is 60+ years old and has had numerous plumbing problems over the years. We have used many local Plumbing and Heating companies through the years. None of the others could even compete with Grogg's Plumbing Co. The two servicemen that came for the job were prompt, knowledgeable, professional, through and cleaned up any mess at the end of the job. If we have the need, we will definitely be calling on you for any repairs. I wish that you had local resources available, (Clarksburg), but am more than pleased with the service work, and service men that did the work. Please pass on our gratitude to the two service men for their over the top professionalism and craftmanship. This was a great commercial job."

"I called asked them to come out to replace a section of copper pipe that was under my stairs. It had a turn off valve. They came at 4pm and said they would come back the next day to the work since they would need to turn off the water from the outside. they came back the next day and called the water company to turn off the water. The water valve outside was stuck so the water co had to dig up my yard and fix that. So the plumber had to come back again later that day. Finally was able to fix which took about 1 hr to fix. They took the copper pipe with them. I felt they should have left it. And they charged me 296.00. The pipe part cost 50.00. I felt they over charged me. I won't be calling them again. Way to expensive for me. <br />"

"I called and set up an appointment about a week in advance. I was told to expect the service man between 8-9 AM. At around 8:30 AM I received a call from the technician. I explained the job to him over the phone He collected the necessary materials and arrived 45 minutes later. After a brief discussion when he arrived, the service man got to work. The job was completed 6 hours later. The job was done well. In addition the service man took care of the little details like being careful not to track dirt into the house from the crawl space. <br />"

"Larry's quote beat the competition and he installs a superior product, American Standard, which is rated highest in Consumer Reports. The crew (3) arrived on time, were very courteous and were respectful of my home (offered to remove shoes when they entered). Scheduled for 1 1/2 days but nearly were complete in 1 day. Cleaned-up their mess and hauled it all away. They came highly recommended by word-of-mouth and I will continue the trend. <br />"

"All communication was prompt, through, and professional. <br /> He walked threw the property with me showed me areas of concern. As a woman he treated me with respect and talked to me as a client and not a woman who isn't familiar with all the things that are in the home, electrical, foundation, plumbing etc. <br /> He showed me everything that he included in his report and spent the time to make sure i understood. The report with details and pictures were very helpful. <br /> He had previously done an inspection on this home many years ago and actually remembered certain things about the home and was able to tell me some things that had changed since his last inspection and some things that haven't changed. Good to know seeing as home most sellers don't give you a home history upon purchasing it.   <br /> I am a very inquisitive person and that didn't bother him in the slightest. <br /> Out of all the expenses in purchasing a home I feel this was the best money spent. I plan on using him for regular home checkups!!! THANKS!!! <br />"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Parkersburg, WV

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
