"The team took care of my house as if it were thier own. A whole house renovation included: Four bathrooms, new flooring and paint throughout, a new built in bar, new electrical and other renovations. It turned out well above my expectations. I would hire again!"

"I (Eric Shrode) operate a Home repair & maintenance business and was representing a client at the address listed.  The property has a second story deck that had some water damage to the sub-floor which needed to be repaired and the deck covering repaired or replaced. <br />"

"We found Alexander Technical Resources (ATR) through Angie's List and were a bit skeptical about remote access and remote repairs on our computer, but Thomas at ATR did an outstanding job for us. He went above and beyond the call of duty and got our computer humming like a sewing machine.  It was money well spent and I did not have to lug my computer around town or have strangers in the house for 4 hours. I can definitely recommend ATR to you and I would not hesitate to use them again if it became necessary. <br />"

"I have to say that I was thoroughly impressed with Sun Valley Solar from start to finish.  And we couldn't have been easy clients to deal with... My engineer/lawyer husband had an intricate excel spreadsheet going from the start and I (type A+ control freak) was managing a half house remodel/addition including variances, permit applications, new roof lines, repapering, solatube installation, skylight removal, etc...  Mark Greene was our initial contact/sales rep and he stayed with us through the whole process, every step of the way.  We required a very large system and were coordinating the installation amongst the remodel/addition to the house.  The logistics were complicated, but the people at SVS were patient, responsive, competent, and professional.  Any 'issue' was immediately attended to and resolved, exceptionally fast even during off hours and weekends.  I worked with Mark, Isela, Evan, and Bonnie in addition to the installation crew and they were all of the caliber I hope for in a company.  The inspector for the City of Phoenix told me that he could tell it was a good company that I had chosen because of how the panel system was installed... some not mandatory details were added "because they were the right thing to do", he said.  Although I am writing this review just days after we turned the system on, so can't attest yet as to the effectiveness of the system (things are running smoothly though), I can tell you the process of obtaining our gargantuan system only went so smoothly because of people at SVS.   <br>   <br>General advice I would pass along....  Before adding your panels, make sure your roof/paper has plenty of life left in it (you don't want to have to repaper five years after installing the panels who's life is 20+years), know that the inverters make some whirring noise, so don't place them close to your outside peaceful space, figure out where you want the conduit to run from the panels to the system (and communicate your chosen path), have paint ready for them to paint the conduit, buy the inverter covers (to protect the inverters and because they can be painted to match the house), and know that even after the system is installed and ready to go, you are at the mercy of APS and the City of Phoenix with regard to inspections and meter swaps before the actual 'launch'. <br> <br>"

"They did what they said they would do and when they said they would do it.  They (2) worked efficiently and blended in the job with a dry wall man to patch the old light fixture hole in the ceiling and matching new paint to old paint.  Beautiful job!  I'm well satisfied with their work."

"Agassiz Landscape completely redid our backyard and removed the regulation size sand volleyball court and replaced it with grass surrounded on three sides by bushes of various kinds. They installed an irrigation system that now covers the entire yard. Each year when the temperatures allow for it they turn on the system and repair any sprinkler heads that may need it and blow out the pipes and shut it down at the end of the season before freezing sets in. We never have to call them as they notify us when it will be done. We don't even have to be present when the work is being done. Any calls to them are answered in a timely manner and we know that we can call with any questions we may have. I wouldn't have anyone else work on our lawn. They are THE BEST!!!"

"I sent my phone in for the free diagnosis and estimate with a pre-approved dollar amount (for repair) of 75.00.  <br /> I received an email when they received my phone. The email communications were excellent as they sent emails during each and every step and/or issue throughout the whole process. <br /> They needed the password to unlock my phone so thjat they could perform certain diagnostics. I was a little uneasy about this, but felt assured by the professionalism, so I continued forward with the repair. <br /> I received an email that there was an issue and I called. Long story short...The port was replaced and the phone was not powering up because the port replacement was unsuccessful. They tried replacing the port a couple more times and still it wasn't working. <br /> The price to continue further was way too expensive for me so, after speaking with the tech, Lucas (very, very professional and understanding and accommodating!!!) the decision was made to refund my pre-payment and mail my phone back to me. <br /> Lucas, the technician, went so far as to consult with his manager to confirm an idea that I had about circumventing the problem by just using a wireless charger, rendering the phone more useful than just a paperweight. <br /> I'm extremely pleased with the fact that they communicated thoroughly throughout the entire process, when the fix was unsuccessful, they refunded my money (I'm not sure if that was a courtesy thing or if it was their policy). <br /> I would highly, highly recommend these folks for any cell phone repairs! :-) <br />"

FAQs for generator repair projects in Parks, AZ

There is often some confusion about the type of work these professionals do. They only work on electrical systems such as outlets, lighting fixtures and electrical panels – they aren’t appliance repairmen.

There are three types of electricians: Master, Journeyman and Apprentice. Electrical licensing varies quite a bit by state. Some have licenses for apprentices and some do not. Some have a master’s rank while others stop at journeyman. Despite the differences, they all require a minimum amount of experience and usually classroom time.

  • Apprentice electricians aren’t usually licensed and spend 4 years learning the trade. Throughout that time, they work on a wide range of projects to learn to become a Journeyman. They’ll do basic work like installing fixtures and replacing outlets all the way to assisting in wiring a home. Regardless of the type of project, they must always be supervised by a Journeyman or Master electrician.

  • Journeymen work without supervision. In a few states, this is the highest level available and they can do all levels of work from wiring a new home to installing a light. In some states, they need a separate electrical contractor license to run a business. In places with a master’s level, a journeyman can do all work besides design new electrical systems.

  • Master electricians usually manage a shop, design new electrical systems in new construction and oversee both Journeyman and Apprentices. They typically bid new projects. Though they focus on larger projects, it’s not unheard of for a homeowner to request a Master Electrician for a house call. If you do, expect to spend up to 25% more for the visit.

Generally, you don’t tip electricians, but that’s not to say they don’t appreciate it if you do. You can offer them something to drink or eat, like coffee and donuts. Most will appreciate it if you do.

The education and certifications required to become an electrician vary by state, though they generally follow this list:

  1. Apprentice

    • Does not always require a license depending on the state.

    • Learns on the job under Journeyman and Master Electricians.

    • Usually needs 4 years on-the-job training before they can test for a Journeyman license. Many states also require a technical degree to advance.

    • Always require supervision.

  2. Journeyman

    • Needs between 8,000 to 10,000 hours of on-the-job training and usually 500 to 1,000 hours of classroom experience.

    • Can usually supervise apprentices.

    • They can diagnose and repair electrical problems.

  3. Master

    • Achieved after an additional two years (4,000 hours) working as a Journeyman and taking the Master Electrician Exam.

    • Besides diagnosing and repairing electrical systems, they also design them. In most places they run shops and inspect Journeyman and Apprentice work.

    • Not a recognized rank in all states.

  4. Electrical Contractor License is an optional license in some states for a Master Electrician to run a business. Some states have this instead of the Master license.

Electricians make an average of $26 per hour but it ranges with experience and licensing. An apprentice may make about half that while a Master Electrician may hit closer to $40 per hour. This figure represents how much they make; not how much they bill. Their salary is only one component of their costs. They must also figure in overhead, taxes, equipment, insurance and several other expenses.

Leave electrical work to the professionals. Electrical systems are complex and potentially hazardous when not handled and installed correctly. If it were easy, it wouldn’t take 4 years to become a journeyman or 6 years for a master’s license. If you are determined to forge ahead yourself, understand home electrical safety before beginning any project.Even for simple common electrical projects, a licensed pro is best. Not only is it safer, but contractors guarantee and insure their work. Hire a professional to keep your home’s electrical systems functioning properly and safely.
