"Called to get estimate for job.  Timely response, clear and direct description of job scope and associated cost.   <br /> I can't say enough about this job.  I got a reasonable quote, lowest one of all I contacted and great service.  The crew arrived on time and worked efficiently, professionally and all were polite and courteous.  They cleaned up completely and were in and out minimizing the impact on my day.  The carpet looks great!   <br /> I would definitely recommend this company !! <br />"

"We are extremely satisfied with the quality of this company. Not only did their crew do a fantastic job with the initial installation, but when we asked that they replace a board before leaving they did it without giving us any grief. When we called them back to say we found gouges on two boards they did not try to assess blame, instead they sent a person out to replace these boards at our convenience. The owner's attitude AND the person sent to do the repairwas very friendly and the work was done perfectly. It is a rare find today to find a company that has a desire to do quality work at a fair price. It is even rarer to find an owner that has been able to transfer this sense of pride in quality workmanship to their crew; but, this business has done this in spades. The business has a very friendly attiitude at all levels, and from my personal experience they do only quality work!"

"After receiving a very high estimate from one of the big box home improvement stores to have our basement stairs carpeted, we decided to get an estimate from Empire. It was very easy to schedule an appointment online.  Bob, the sales rep, came to the house with several carpet samples.  He was very helpful and cordial and quoted us a fair price.  The installation was scheduled for the next day.  The two men who installed were very professional and courteous, and completed the job in about one hour.  Overall, we had a great experience with Empire and would definitely recommend them. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Pascoag, RI

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
