"We would recommend Surface Solutions to anyone that would need to redo a bathtub and or tile surround. I do not think that anyone would ever know that we used to have a hot pink tub. You cannot go wrong if you chose to use Surface Solutions. <br />"

"Extremely well. Tyler has a professional team, all are courteous and made sure to clean up each day, kept me apprised of where we were and any challenges we faced as they proceeded in the job. Assisted me in making selections for materials, set up their own workspaces and cleaned up where they had to work Inside. Went above and beyond just the job we originally thought we'd be doing and the price was very reasonable. Extreme quality work better than I ever thought my kitchen would look. Just can't say enough about the work they did! If you hire Tyler you won't be disappointed. He truly is the best contractor I've ever had and my kitchen was completely transformed and I just luv luv luv it!"

"James was meticulous in his work. He was respectful at all times of us and our property. James prepped and sanded the old cabinets and then sprayed the cabinets, sanding I between coats to get the beautiful finish end product. Looks like I bought them brand new at a high end cabinet shop. James removed all the old wall paper off the walls. Repaired, sanded and prepped to get a beautiful wall finish. You can't tell there was hideous wall paper previously. The white beadboard trim and crown moulding in our bathroom pops out so beautiful now where is was just moulding on the wall before! James was always careful and respectful of our home and the fact we were living in it while he worked. I could not have asked for a better painter! James is one of a dying breed that is hard to come by now a days!"

"Work went well. Rob Bess the owner did most of the work. He made valid suggestions, he accompanied me to Home Depot to assist in picking out material needed. His crew and Rob were very professional and very h?lpful. I have already talked with Rob to do additional home repairs this spring. I live in GA and Rob is working on my house in MS."

"My wife and I bought a retirement home in Ocean Springs that was flooded by Katrina.  The home was under 5 feet of water and unoccupied for years.  We solicited several quotes and Emmitt Christie's (Just Fix It) was by far the most competitive.  We were located in Columbus, Ohio during the duration of the remodeling (May 2013-Sept. 2013).  Because we were not familiar with the area or contractors in the Misssissippi Gulf Coast, I was apprehensive about hiring and trusting any company to take care of our investment, especially since we weren't there.    However, that all changed with Emmitt.  We could tell him what we wanted done, when we want it done and he would give us a very good price for the job.  We could trust Emmitt to do the job right, on time and without us being there.  Although his price and quality of work was very good,  the fact that we could trust him is what makes him very valuable.  Some of the work that he performed on our home included:  New roof, new wiring, new drywall, some new plumbing, installed kitchen cabinets and counters, bathroom vanitys, designed and installed a new slate walk-in shower, built a deck, installed electrical panel boxes, ceiling lights and fans throughout the home and converted the garage into a den and laundry room.  The bottom line is I would highly recommend Emmitt's company, Just Fix It, for any job, big or small. <br />"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Pass Christian, MS

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
