"Gary and his son exceed our expectations. I had already met with a number of contractors before coming across Colgar Enterprises on Angie’s List. After my husband met with Gary, we didn’t need to look any further. Gary and his son do all the work themselves and dedicate themselves to a project from beginning to end. He is a true craftsman in every sense of the word. He even creating beautiful custom moldings for our windows and doors that matched the style of our house when most moldings available were traditional in style. His price is very reasonable and appreciated the fact that he also communicates clearly and is very personable. We felt comfortable approaching Gary with any suggestions that we had. Our project didn’t start until the wintertime due to delays with our permit. It was a tough winter with multiple Nor’easters, but Gary and his son were tougher. They would even show up after a snowstorm and work on anything that was possible. As the photos attached show, the addition is on the second story of the house though we chose not to build out the first level below it. There were some serious heights to contend with, but they were very careful. The finished room is more stunning than I imagined it would be. It was all in the details. Gary is uncompromising in the materials that he uses. He has picked through numerous pieces of lumber so he could use only the best pieces on our project. He advised us to use Azek to trim our windows on the outside, in order to save money in the long run. He is cost-conscious and let us know when it was better to repair vs. replace. Additional new windows that Gary and his son replaced around our house are beautifully installed. He even fixed a difficult window that we weren’t ready to replace! I thought we would have to replace all of the cedar siding on the back of our house (as one siding company had suggested), but with decades of experience behind him and careful inspection, Gary found that only certain pieces of cedar needed to be replaced. I had dodged a major bill. We are using his electricians to help us complete the project and so far their work has been excellent. Gary had just finished his portion of the project last week. Though we are in the middle of the exterior paint project that one of his painters is taking care of, I didn’t want to wait to share my experience with anyone looking for a general contractor. Gary and his son made the whole process so much easier than we expected. We are grateful that we found Gary through Angie’s List. Thank you! "We had a great experience with this company. After some big storms this fall, our garage roof was damaged and leaking, as well as the vent in our upstairs bathroom. They were able to come out quickly to give an estimate and had very competitive pricing. There was a slight delay due to waiting for materials, but in 2021 with supply chain issues, it was actually done pretty quickly. The work itself was done in 2 days and after a huge storm this weekend, there is no more leaking so we know the work was done very well. They also fixed our stair railing that was very wobbly and now is solid and safe."

They came to the house and called me with a price, which was reasonable, so I had them do the work right there and then. They installed a brand new downspout and extender and did a really nice job. I was very happy with their service and I didn't even have to be home as I was at work at the time."
