"I do not recommend working with Artios Architects. I initially reached out to Artios Architects to see if they had an architect that would be able to help me with a dormer project. They suggested working with the architect Jose Guzman. We reached out to Jose and had him come by our house to see if the project was something he had the skillset to work on. We agree to work with him, he took measurements of our space, and we were provided with three design ideas. We had no issues up until this point in the project. We selected one of the designs and were informed we may need a structural engineer to help with the project. At this point, Jose’s communication ceased to exist. I inquired multiple times if an engineer was required and it took Jose two weeks to inform us that we would need a structural engineer to complete the design we selected. We were willing to bring an engineer on the project, but neither the architect nor Artios Architects had sufficient connections to identify anyone for the project. While this was unfortunate, the part that was most frustrating was that we were never provided any updates without asking and at some point Jose just stopped responding altogether. I needed to call the firm to determine what was going on with the project and see if there was a reason behind the absence of communication. We were told there were issues finding an engineer and they apologized for the communication issue, however, Jose still did not respond after the call. It became clear that Artios Architects and Jose were not the right people for our project. We had put down a deposit for half the project upfront with an agreement in place for how much each aspect of the project would cost. We told Jose we would pay for the designs but wanted money back for the services not completed. We finally got Jose to respond after many attempts to contact him and he agreed to give us money back for the services he did not perform. We have still not been reimbursed. This is the first bad experience I have had with a contractor found on Angi. Working with Artios Architects and Jose has been a true nightmare and I can only hope no one else has to experience this."

"I hired this individual in 2019 based on the representation that he was a licensed architect. After approximately 7 months, I terminated the relationship. During the engagement, the quality of work was extremely poor and far below professional standards. Drawings were incomplete, inaccurate, and lacked even basic technical competency. Much of the work appeared to be hand-sketched and unusable for permitting or construction, requiring constant correction and explanation. Over time, I became increasingly concerned and later discovered that he was not a licensed architect, despite presenting himself as one. Throughout those months, payments were made while meaningful progress was minimal, resulting in lost time and additional expense to replace him and redo the work properly. I would strongly urge anyone considering this person to verify credentials and licensing independently before hiring."
