"They were very punctual. The man who came was friendly, professional, and didn't talk down to me. He knew how to work with older, handicapped people. I would hire him again in a New York minute."

"I paid $62000 to have my roofs repaired - not cheap for a disabled person. Hopefully, thei dropping the ball is not because Im disabled. They removed but did not properly reattach my ATT line to detached garage. Also, there was a fluke rainstorm about 1-1/2 weeks ago and i heard a dripping sound in / near chimney. I complained and Brent Eikanas their contact promised to have supervisor here to check leak TODAY between 10-11 am and anchor the ATT connection like it was before they removed it. They no-showed AGAIN. I had to remind them of other items they needed to do to finish/using my payment as leverage - removing the old gutter all the way - they had only half-way removed it. I have photos and next winter will have to video and record leak in/near fireplace. I had to start documenting because phone call is useless. The workers left nails and some trash too and on Cinco de Mayo, their last day here, they did two structures in 4 hours,"

"?????????? Absolutely Perfect Roof ? Couldn?t Be Happier! We had an incredible experience with this roofing company from start to finish. From the very first call to the final clean-up, the entire process was smooth, professional, and stress-free. I can't say enough about this company! We made the switch from tile to a stunning new composition roof, and the transformation is unbelievable. Not only does it look amazing?it also gives our home a fresh, modern look. The crew was punctual, respectful. They took the time to explain the process, answered all our questions, and kept the work area clean every step of the way. What really impressed us was the attention to detail. Every shingle was placed perfectly, the lines are clean, and the finish is flawless. You can tell they take great pride in their work, and it shows. Even our neighbors have commented on how great the new roof looks! They even worked out an inhouse payment plan with us! "

"In early 2021, we had a leaky roof. We called Slate Roof's Randy Voss. Randy charged ~$150 to come same-day -- an expediting fee. Since our roof was leaking, we felt we had not choice but to pay it. Randy came quickly, which was appreciated but in addition to the expediting fee, he charged us for a "roof inspection" which he said he had to do before the repairs were attempted. After paying this additional fee, we were surprised by the lack of a veritable inspection report. It was a few hand-written lines about what he had seen in the diagnosis of the leak and a few words about chipped paint or leaf gutters needing cleaning. It was nothing similar to actual roof inspections done with real estate transactions. It was simply him viewing the roof. When I asked where the report was from the "inspection" we had paid him for, he confirmed that all it was were those few lines written down by hand. We then ask him why the roof had leaked. He said he thought it was because of equipment that was overwhelmed during the storm making water seep in through the attachment of the equipment around the roof shingles. He said he cemented or patched the attachment points again and that "it should fix it." I asked if he had tested the leak with water or otherwise knew it was an adequate repair. He said he could not. Fast forward to the first rain of Fall 2021: first big rainfall on 10/24/21 and the leak was back. Water leaking from our ceiling again. This was his reply: "US: I was concerned then that an incomplete job had been done but you assured me what was done was all that was needed. The first rain of the season has come and our roof is again leaking is exact fashion and same location as last year. Can you please arrange an urgent consultation to come back our and fix it again? I questioned last time the thoroughness of the inspection and the fix. This time can we somehow buy your services as more thorough? We are more concerned with quality of the repair so this doesn’t keep happening. The insulation is wet in the crawl space. You may not recall, but you told me that there was a leak where some piece of roof equipment attached to the shingles and you said you repaired it. This time, is there something more you can do? RANDY: As I explained then and will re-explain there’s no way I can guarantee a repair nor do I know anyone else who could guarantee a repair this repair was about 200 repairs ago and you’re the only one that has called back so apparently I’m doing something right even though in your eyes it seems like I do not. US: given the repair was insufficient since it’s leaking now, can you come back and do a more effective repair? The water is leaking non stop. we’d appreciate any help to stop it. RANDY: As I recall I went above and beyond out of my way to come and try to help you and you’ve been nothing but unappreciative, when I repair a roof I do it as if it were my own which is why I have an outstanding reputation. Since you think my repairs are insufficient why would you want me to come back and why would I want to. US: [Our] apologies. when [we] said insufficient [we] just meant that whatever was done didn’t work, because it’s leaking now. might you be able to come and repair given we have water leaking through the ceiling into the living room? as you mentioned, your reputation is outstanding, and we are in need of help. thank you. RANDY: My work ethic is that I try my hardest to please all of my customers and it seems like you’re one that is unpleasable I’m not interested in working with you no matter how much money you would be willing to pay I’m sorry find someone else. Or since you seem to know everything you should fix it yourself US: Who could be pleased with a leak not fixed? Is there someone in your office or a partner that could help? Anyone else at [your company]? We are looking for someone who can come out urgently. Can you help us please?" Randy did not reply to this text, ghosting his former customer and refusing to return to inspect the work he did that did not fix the problem. He then deflected his poor performance, resorting to personal attacks, calling us "unpleasable" and stating that "we seem to know everything". We cannot recommend Slate Roofing for these reasons."

FAQs for metal roofing repair projects in Penn Valley, CA

Maintaining your soffit is essential. You must inspect it twice yearly to catch any clear signs of deterioration. Look for cracks, mold, rotted wood, sagging sections, chipped paint, or missing boards. If these issues are detected, contact a professional immediately to repair or replace the damaged soffit and protect your home’s structural integrity.

To maintain your fascia boards and soffits, inspect them regularly to protect your roof and home's structure. Clean your gutters to remove debris and prevent moisture buildup. Repaint any damaged sections to keep moisture at bay. Upgrading drip edges and vents improves airflow and dispels moisture efficiently, helping you avoid severe damage and costly repairs.

While installing a new soffit over an existing soffit isn't common, it may be necessary in some older homes. If removing the original soffit could damage delicate structures, a professional might recommend installing the new soffit without complete removal. Always consult a qualified professional to assess the condition and ensure this method is safe and effective.

When hiring someone for soffit and fascia repair, choose a specialist with proven roofing and gutter systems expertise. A knowledgeable contractor will thoroughly inspect your home and provide a straightforward repair or replacement plan. Check online reviews and ask for references to ensure you receive high-quality service that delivers lasting results and strong protection for your home.
