"After noticing Fast Cut's company truck in the wal-mart parking lot, I spoke with Roland Nolan about some tree work. He arrived at my house a few minutes later and I gave him an idea of what I needed done. He quoted me a price for the removal of one tree, which was very reasonable considering other bids on the work. I told him I had to talk it over with someone else and he gave me his business number.   I called again and Roland returned to discuss some additional work and when they would be available to complete the work.   Roland gave me a finalized price as well as a day he could show up and do the work.  Start time was scheduled for 10 AM. Around 9:30 AM on the day of the job, Roland called and advised they were running a little late on another job and would arrive no later than 11AM.  Fast Cut arrived around 10:45 AM and completed all the work we agreed upon. They cleaned up their work areas of debris before hauling everything away."

"They construct the fence from scratch. It's very solid. It looks very nice. Doing it that way rather than installing it in sections is good for uneven, going around trees, matching up with other fences that sort of a thing. So, it looks very clean and professional. They did a nice job."

"The package was to include caulking and minor repairs, all exterior painting, washing and prepping of all surfaces, and labor. Paint was to be paid for by the homeowner. We ALSO had to purchase the caulking, the blue tape and papers for covering the windows. They were to start on either March 31 or April 1, but when I called Mike to let him know they could start on Apr. 1, he said they had another job to do that day, and they would start on April 2. They did start on April 2nd, but never showed up until almost 10 in the morning, and the same thing happened on the two following days. Mike did very little of the actual work, he left many, many times, especially on the first 2 days. He seemed to spend a lot of time on his cell phone, when the others were working. His "helpers', Julian and Marty, did 90% or more of the actual work, and they worked well. On the third day, when they thought they were done and were packing up to leave, we had to point out to them areas that needed to be touched up or finished. They also had to use our ladders which were in our garage, as they didn't seem to have any of their own. <br />     I also hired Mike to pressure wash our pool deck and fence, and we'd agreed on a price ($200) but the work was done by Marty and Julian, again. Mike told me at least 3 times during the course of the 3 days that he hadn't been paid by Angie's List yet, that Angie's List took 30% of his pay, and asked more than once about the price of the pressure washing. I told him that I paid up front for the entire job when I contracted him on Angie's List. We were considering having some additional staining or painting work done to the fence by Mike, but changed our minds by the third day. I feel that he may be having some financial stress, but that is not my concern with a contractor. I expect the contractor to keep his personal problems to himself. <br />"
