"Robert arrived on time for the estimate the same day I requested an estimate. He explained the different repairs that he could do, 2 days later he returned and completed my repair of the stucco on my house. All the stucco that had to be removed was collected and not left on the ground. The area was repaired and looks great! I was very satisfied with the communication, the attention to details and the cost. The previous days weather(rain) made his other projects to wet to work on, so my work was done much earlier than expected. I highly recommend Robert from Pueblo West Stucco and Stone."

"Blake & Brian came and explained everything for my roof. It was in bad shape and they showed me a lot that other roofers missed. I knew the others seemed too good to be true and missed a ton of stuff. Blake & Brian worked hard to make it affordable and fit within my budget. Super excited to get my roof replaced by an amazing contractor"

"Confident Coatings & Exteriors was a great company to work with. You will not regret it. We mainly dealt with Bart (one of the owners with his brother Patrick), who provided a good education of what Stucco Repair would entail. We chose the repair involving Seal Crete and Elastomeric coating (10 times the thickness of paint per Internet research) vs the patchwork repair of the traditional concrete stucco patches. Our stucco house is 20 years old and we could see cracks forming where water seepage would occur and other areas where the stucco was already flaking off due the freezing and thawing climate where we live. Bart also accommodated a 2nd free visit to further review their process after I got further information from 3 other stucco repair bids. In the end we chose the repair involving Seal Crete and Elastomeric coating. The house looks brand new and the stucco is now sealed from water seepage with the Seal Crete and Elastomeric stucco coating and 50 year caulk sealant where needed. Confident Coatings provides a 10 year warranty which no other contractor offered. Bart's responsiveness via text messaging and phone calls was always quick, clear, and professional. The crew's foreman (Carlos) who had been with Bart for 20+ years was likewise professional and bent over backwards to ensure all of our questions and needs were satisfied. I've dealt with landscaper contractors, septic field contractors, deck repair/rebuild contractors, fence & gate contractors, and furnace repair contractors. Bart and his crew with Confident Coatings was easily head and shoulders above any of them in all aspects of quality, value, professionalism, responsiveness, and timeliness. Henceforth for us, there is very little need to get other bids for the other services Confident Coatings offers (interior & exterior painting, etc). I'm sure that we will choose Confident Coatings every time."

"I am a picky guy with experience in many fields of construction. Saloman and his crew was very professional, highly detailed with their quality, and clearly communicated throughout the project. I would recommend Saloman to any family member or friend. Before the job was even finished, multiple neighbors committed on quality of work. If I ever need another home stuccoed, I know who I will call. Thank you Salomon and your crew"

"It went great. My contact was Joe who was great to work with from start to finish. The job entailed preparing the existing tape and bed on the garage walls and ceiling to minimize show through, priming the whole garage and then applying two coats of paint. I had decided that I did not want to pay for extensive tape and bed touch-up work to insure no show-thru so preparing the existing tape and bed was very important to me. Joe quoted me a price which was higher than some of the other bids I had but Joe did his best to get the price down as low as possible. They needed to keep their crews working so I think I got the bare minimum price which I greatly appreciated. There were other bidders in the same price range but Joe's knowledge and responsiveness tipped the scale in his favor. A challenging point that I had to work through involved how much show-thru would exist. I was willing to accept a degree of show-thru but arriving at a mutual agreement with the Paint Doctor was a challenge. But Joe came through for me. I showed him some pictures of a garage that had been painted by another bidder that clearly showed the show thru. Joe told my job would look as good or better. That was good enough for me. I signed on with the Paint Doctor to paint the garage and I am so glad that I did. It came out just as expected. Joe advised me in selecting the paint which was also greatly appreciated. The crew that came out to do the work, David and his daughter Anna, was also great to work with. They did their very best to deliver a job satisfactory to me, and they did it. The resulting job looks great. There is show thru but no more than what I expected. When the work was being done, David really laid down the primer (7-gallons) and then two heavy coats of paint. As it turned out considerably more primer was used than estimated so I offered pay for the additional primer which Joe did not intend to mention. But I volunteered since it was the right thing to do. This illustrates how honorable The Paint Doctor is. All things consider, I could not have gotten a better paint job. If you need painting, interior or exterior, call The Paint Doctor … and ask for Joe."

"Several years ago we replaced our upstairs bathroom flooring....using a friend. We realize he didn't know what he was doing when he put the toilet back in. Years later we have ugly mold/fungus on our downstairs ceiling and between the floors. I saw a referral here, on Nextdoor, to use Shawn Turano of PROPERTY RESTORATION SOLUTIONS. Great referral! He really knows how to handle dangerous molds, utilizing HEPA requirements, etc. He gave us a reasonable bid, adhered to it, did an outstanding job and solved our problem. If you need property/disaster restoration from a flood, fire, smoke, mold, or general contracting needs, I can honestly refer Shawn. Here is his number: 719-650-5895."

FAQs for traditional stucco repair or partially replace projects in Penrose, CO

Minor stucco fixes—like sealing small cracks or adding fresh caulk—often wrap up in an hour or two. Larger jobs that call for cutting out damaged sections, installing new lath, and layering fresh stucco can stretch to three or four days because each coat needs time to cure. A pro removes loose material, cleans and dampens the area, applies a bonding agent, and builds up new layers, matching texture and restoring the wall’s weather shield.

Watch for a stucco surface that stays damp days after a storm, develops dark stains, or feels soft or spongy under light pressure. Inside, moisture rings, peeling paint, or soft drywall around windows point to the same issue. Any of these red flags mean water is trapped behind the siding, and it’s time to call a stucco pro before rot or mold sets in.

Give your stucco a once-over every spring and fall. Semiannual checks let you catch hairline cracks, stains, or damp spots before they snowball into pricey repairs. Keep a flashlight handy, look closely around windows and doors, and call a pro if you notice anything soft or discolored. Staying ahead of minor issues protects both your curb appeal and your home’s weather barrier.

A pro starts by scraping away loose material, then cleans and lightly wets the area so new stucco will stick. After brushing on a bonding agent, they build fresh layers, letting each coat cure before adding the next. The final step is matching the texture and color so the patch blends in and the wall regains full weather protection.

Think of repair as a patch: the pro fixes only the visible crack or hole. Remediation goes deeper—crews strip away the compromised stucco, correct the root problem (often water or mold), then rebuild the wall. If tests show structural rot or trapped moisture, remediation is the safer, longer-lasting route; otherwise, a straightforward repair often does the trick.
