"Provided guidance and direction in lighting layout, helpful choosing placement and quantity of lights, on-time, and cleaned up after installation. Reasonably priced, and mindful of working clean while entering and exiting my home. Very respectful. Planning to hire again and will definitely keep or refer this contact."

"Murphy Family Electric is an awesome company with very competent technicians and reasonable rates. They make the whole process pretty straightforward. I had used them to get my Tesla charger in 2018 (Cost: $799 including material). I was so impressed with their work that when I had a complex electrical job - installing a new 120v outlet requiring a new wire from the circuit breaker - I did not get any quotes but just booked them. That job was done very professionally as well (Cost: $949). Fast forward to Mar 2025, my tesla charger had problems with over heating and intermittent power loss. I called Murphy Family Electric and they sent a technician the same day who came and adjusted/cleaned the connections and spent 30 mins fixing the problem. And to my surprise the company did not even charge me anything for this. So on top of everything else you can add absolutely fantastic customer service to their list of attributes."

"If you're looking for an honest electrical company, look no more. Larry is completely honest and I can't recommend him high enough. He had a prime opportunity to not only charge me for a service call but to charge for parts and labor on a very simple fix. He walked me through it over the phone when other electrical companies were more than happy to come to my home and charge me for the service call and God only knows what else. Thanks Larry! You're the best!"

"Supreme Electric arrived on time a 8:30 and we went over the work I needed complete.   They started right away, fixed the GFI outlet, and started on the new light.   They first covered the kitchen area with a tarp and began the cut into the ceiling and cut into the wall to fish the wire to the new switch.   They hung the light and repaired the access hole and cleaned up the area of all debris and vacuumed the whole area.   They then ran the new circuit which was over 100 feet from the electric panel box to the outlet. Both Pete and Dave were very friendly and professional and worked quickly.   They cleaned up after their work and left the area in great condition. Their pricing was very fair.   We are very happy with our new kitchen light and the work done.

"I made a Big Deal purchase with them. It went extremely well. There was no extra charge. The guy was outstanding! He was a great guy to work with. I helped him with some of the work and he was very grateful for the help. We will definitely use the service again. His name was Fred Maskeroni. Pricing was good. I'm a buyer, so I always think pricing could be better. He did a lot of things and he did them all well. You call plumbers and they're just going to do plumber. You call an electrician and they're just going to do electrical work. Well, he did plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall."

"I love KSD. James and his crew are amazing! They did a good bit of work for us. Raised the floor of a sunken family room, added a wall, replaced a sliding door with a window, added a closet, gutted a powder room & closet and expanded it to a full size bathroom, added a concrete step to my patio, as well as all the small details...crown molding, chair rail, new carpets and planking, seamless drywall, electrical, three ceiling fan installations. They were prompt, arriving each morning when they said they would. They seem to be more project-based...day 1 was demo, day 2 was support beams, sub-flooring etc. They were definitely on top of things. I mistakenly purchased the wrong size shower base and they made the adjustments to the plan to make it work. James made sure to mention things that we hadn’t considered (this was our first big remodel!) and confirmed with us the little details that were important to make sure they were done right. James and his crew were very professional and superb with communication about every part of the remodel, and not to mention they were just the friendliest group of guys. :) We absolutely will be using them again for any other projects..and there is quite the list! Go with James and his crew, they’ll do a wonderful job!"

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Perry-point, MD

Because installing coax outlets involves working around existing electrical wiring and confirming proper grounding, many homeowners prefer to hire a licensed electrician. A professional completes the work safely, secures the line behind the wall, and ensures the installation meets local code, which reduces the risk of damage or future repairs.

You still need a coaxial outlet for most cable-based internet services. The modem draws its signal from a cable line that terminates at a dedicated wall jack. Once the modem is online, your Wi-Fi router can broadcast the signal throughout the home, so the outlet’s location doesn’t affect wireless performance. If an existing jack is damaged or in an inconvenient spot, an electrician can move it or install a new one to maintain a strong, reliable connection.

Coaxial cable loses signal strength the farther it runs. A 50-foot length introduces noticeable loss, and a 100-foot stretch can drop the signal by roughly 30%. A weaker signal can result in a fuzzy picture or slower internet speeds. To maintain high performance, limit cable length whenever possible, select the correct cable grade, and route it efficiently. If your layout demands an exceptionally long run, an electrician can install an inline amplifier to boost the signal and maintain picture or data quality.
