Our guy who completed the estimate (Mark maybe?), Brandi at the office and the staff who removed the tree were exceptionally efficient and responsive. "They are really nice and I ended up feeling taken. Ben Allen came out to do an estimate on my neighbor's yard and my neighbor asked if I wanted to talk with him as well as we had just moved into a home where nothing had been done in quite a while. Ben gave an estimate of $1850 to clear out the bushes in front of my house trim back or prune all the trees, remove the ivy from the trees and the house, and take out the overgrowth around my garage. I never got it in writing and had to call back to find out what was going on. I kind of figured when I spoke to the mom in the office and told her the price that there was a problem - it just felt weird, and she suggested that he come out. I had gotten the day wrong that they were coming so I said, I would get it in writing when he came out to do the work. The day that they came out to do the work the price magically jumped from $1850 to the price he quoted my neighbor of $3200. In retrospect, I should have declined. First off Ben said that the reason was the oaks that I had, needed to be really pruned so I said, then just get the obvious stuff, and then he said that the reason for the increase was that he hadn't included the cost of removing the overgrowth next to the garage. At that point I was pretty much caught in trying to figure out what was so and feeling like an absolute idiot for not having gotten it in writing, and with a house that badly needed the work, so we made the decision to get it over with. The trees that should have been really pruned still have dead wood in them, and there is still ivy everywhere on the trees. On the plus side, the guys were really really nice, asked about removing trees as they went along, and cleaned up everything. If I hadn't been so upset by the whole experiece I would have been out there asking about limbs that weren't done, so some of it is my fault for not being on top of things in the end and some of it is that they should have done what they overcharged or underestimated from the beginning. I asked my husband to find out about the trees but being direct isn't his forte. I honestly don't know if I would use them again. I think overall they do good work. The wise thing to do is to write it down yourself if he isn't going to do it. The interesting thing is that on the back of his card is a place for estimates so I get the impression that this has happened before."

"So Ted and his guys came out the next 2 days (Thursday & Friday) and performed all work to my satisfaction; cut them into logs so I can split later for my wood stove; and they thoroughly cleaned up site (only logs and saw dust left over on ground).  There were also some dead branches in a nearby tree close to the one by garage and he trimmed at no additional charge.

Everything was done in a professional manner and more than I expected.

My next door neighbor was interested and I told him what was being done.  So as a result he had Abba Chief T.S. cut 2 dying trees as well.

My wife and I are very happy with Abba Chief Tree Services and would highly recommend them to anyone needing such services.  You will not be disappointed.  Ted and his wife are very nice people to deal with.

I will be using Abba Chief T.S. again before this coming winter to cut/trim trees branches that are hanging over our house.

"We have used Freestate to periodically trim our trees and always found Ben (owner) to be professional and more than fair in his pricing. When the heavy winds came through Friday a large tree split and a huge brach (more like a small tree - see photo) crashed down on our neighbor's roof, puncturing it. Our neighbor didn't know who to call so I called Ben. He happened to be in our neighborhood dealing with another downed tree and said he'd come over that night; and he did. The crew off-loaded some heavy machinery and promised to be back in the morning. Promise kept. By end of that day (Saturday) the branch was off the roof, the the split tree (a 70 footer) was down and the crew temporarily patched the neighbor's roof. While they were here I asked Ben to take down two other white pines that are notorious for shallow roots and fragile limbs. He did so at a great price. The neighbors and I are extremely satisfied. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!"

"We had a dead tree in front they removed that. They still have to grind it down. They trimmed several trees away from the house. It went well. They did the job quickly. I thought the price was very reasonable considering I compared it to the price from another company. I was happy with the work. I'm still waiting till they actually removed the stump, ground it down. I liked the price most. The work was very professional. They brought it down, nothing was harmed. They did have an equipment malfunction that delayed them a little, about a day."

"This work took place eleven months ago, but that gives us the ability to say that everything Kurt’s team planted looks great and is growing nicely, except one bush that is struggling, which Kurt agreed to replace without hesitation.
