"My wife and I wanted new hard woods in our house but had very specific requirements that we could not typically find locally.  My wife wanted a dark floor while I wanted extreme durability in a natural hard wood.  We did our homework and decided that Brazilian Walnut (Ipe) most closely matched what we wanted.  <br /> After looking locally for something that fit the bill, the flooring we found was either over $12 sq/ft (too expensive) or not dark enough.  I started searching on-line and ran across Brazilian Direct.  Their prices seemed reasonable (a bit over $6 sq/ft for what we wanted) and they even had a tinted (dark) version of the floor we liked. <br /> After several weeks of questions and further research, we decided to place an order.  We we worked with a representative named Sannon who helped us every step of the way.  She sent us samples, instructions, guides - everything to make us more comfortable about our eventual order.  Our order came right on schedule and the wood was really beautiful.  After several weeks of the required acclimation we had a local installer put the floor down.  They did an excellent job and we really love our floor.  There was very little waste and in fact we had at least 3 boxes left over. <br /> I highly recommend Brazilian Direct.  We are considering using them again for a deck project we'd like to do in the future. <br />"

"Mike installed our new granite countertops and he did an excellent job. He came over and took the measurements one evening and within 10 days he came back to install the countertops and he did a really good job. The actual tearing down of the old countertop and installing of the new one (which was pre-fabricated) only took about 5 to 6 hours. He was very professional and there was very minimal mess left behind. <br /> Steve also did an excellent job in installing our backsplash. We had a pattern for the backsplash and it was done very nicely. The first day it took about 6 hours and the next day about 3 hours to complete the job. He was also very professional and left minimal mess behind. We are very happy with the results and would definitely call K D Kitchens if we have more jobs to be done."

"I have used several Granite Gold products and like their effectiveness because they do what they are supposed to do. No strong fumes or irritating skin problems. The granite counter top daily cleaner and polish are so easy to use (spay it on and wipe with a paper towel) to keep all your stone products clean and shiny. I was surprised to see how effective the grout cleaner is. I sprayed it on some dirty tire floors in the bathroom and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Then I went over it with the scrub brush they provide. It looked clean then, but when it dried, it was much brighter. This is a 40 Year old bathroom tile floor pictured. They came and measured. <br /> We decided to go with this company because they helped me think through which products to use. For example they made suggestions about matching  cabinets and granite , choose the right tiles for back splash and I''m very glad they did. <br /> Price was a little more but worth every penny.. The granite they fabricated and installed is perfect, I can't tell where is the seam, sink cut-out without mistake. Worked really clean, no garbage left in my house. <br /> They did a great job. "The whole process of getting an estimate, picking a material, scheduling, and install was great! They have good prices and did not charge me extra for the "second slab" other companies wanted me to pay for. I paid by sq ft not how many slabs the job would take. This company was very responsive to all my emails and questions. The only small issue I had was that the installers left a bunch of sawdust all over my floor as well as scuff marks from moving my stove. I just had my floors refinished as I am doing a full remodel, so I was not happy to see that. Luckily the scuffs came out with a mop and a little elbow grease or I would have been calling them about it. If you check the pics, ignore the orange cabinets. Those are getting refinished next."

In the end, we decided not to repair the countertop and sink but replace it entirely. as the previous owner installed it and it no longer fit our decor. "We priced new countertops at two of the local "big box" stores, and quickly learned that stone countertops are priced comparably with solid surface countertops (e.g., Corian), so we decided to go with granite.  We have a small kitchen and only needed 30 sq. feet.  The price for one of the least expensive stone countertops alone at the home store was over $1500 (including an extra sale discount of 10%)--the tear out of the existing counter, cost to polish the sink opening and undermount our sink, and the back splash were all extra costs, and the price quickly rose well above $2000. <br /> We almost did not check out Luther Falls because we assumed they would be more expensive.  Boy we are sure glad we did!  The amount we paid ($1740 cash; paying with a credit card would have added an additional 4%) included everything except the plumbing work. We used their recommended plumber, Fred Kobel, and he did a great job.  <br /> Dee gave us excellent advice in choosing the granite that would best match our needs.  She advised also that the new backsplash would be a bit taller than the old one to be certain that any old caulk stains or old paint color would be concealed--much appreciated so I don't have to paint right away. <br /> We did have to wait a few weeks for the measurement appointment, but the installation was scheduled for three days later, and went smoothly.  The two slabs fit perfectly--and the crew was in and out in under two hours. They took care to make sure their tools and supplies were placed on a blanket so as not to scratch our wood floors, and they cleaned up thoroughly when done. And I should add that the caulking job above the backsplash is nothing short of perfection!  <br /> One caveat however is that the selection at Luther Falls is not nearly as large as the home improvement stores, but we had no problem finding a suitable granite among what they did have available.  As a side note, I also requested pricing on new kitchen cabinets and the cost was really affordable--but we plan to sell the house in a couple of years and so decided not to spend the extra money at this time. <br /> Bottom line:  I would definitely recommend Luther Falls Custom Kitchens for your kitchen remodeling needs--their prices cannot be beat by the local chain home improvement stores.  Our new granite countertop and backsplash look great! <br />"
